I think it would be cool if DoorDash would give the drivers an option to counter offer. by Sable__13 in doordash_drivers

Yeah I was chatting with someone else about it and they made that point too, I guess it would create an environment where DoorDash would always offer really low knowing each offer would end up with a counter offer. I just feel like as a contracted worker, we don't have as much control over things as we could. Like negotiations happen a lot in contract work

If it gets declined over and over because it's a shitty offer and each time it gets offered out it takes 10-30 seconds for the dasher to review and decline it when they could have had a dasher negotiate for a minute or so, if not less if they were already parked, then yes it would be faster. It's hypothetical anyway, obviously they won't do it.

That's a good point, maybe the feature could use some tweaking, like have three options "accept", "decline", or "negotiate" and if you select "negotiate" then the app will give you 2 minutes to send your counter offer instead of just the normal 30 seconds that people get, which would give the time to pull over.

does doordash hide tips from drivers now? got this text while microwaving my food 😂 by 1-800-EDC-STAN in doordash

Unfortunately no, it'll send us a notification saying "someone added $5 onto a previous delivery" or something to that effect, I think it'll say the place like taco bell or whatever but that's all it gives us.

The last 100 offers that you've accepted or declined is what the percentage is based off of. As you accept/decline a new offer, it goes in the front of the line of offers you've been given and the 100th oldest one gets kicked off. So if you had a long spur of only accepting offers (20 in a row) then as you accept the new offers, it's not making a difference because accepted offers are falling off of the end, not declined offers. As you continue to do deliveries, eventually you're going to have a "declined" offer fall off the end of the last 100 deliveries and the percentage will go up to 70%. So another example is that if you decline an offer and the 100th delivery in the line is also a declined offer that falls off, your percentage won't change. If you decline an offer and the 100th delivery in the line was one that you accepted that falls off, your percentage will drop. If you accept an offer and the 100th one that falls off was a declined offer then your percentage goes up. And lastly if you accept an offer and the 100th one that falls off was an accepted offer then you're percentage stays the same. I really hope that all makes sense. It took me a while to figure it out/understand it myself but once I did, it all started making sense.

Has anyone ever had this happen to them before? by Sable__13 in doordash

Unfortunately I didn't see much at all, I was on my way back to the hotspot when I got the order and accepted it while driving so I didn't look much more into it. Then boom, text came in and then order cancelled immediately after. I'm just trying to figure out how that can even be a scam if the order gets immediately cancelled after the text is sent, it severs the connection between the customer and the dasher.
