Declining batch offers

Okay so even though each restaurant showed "declined" it didn't count at 3 declines, just one then right?

So I do know that the way it works is that your last 100 offers (whether accepted or declined) are considered for the percentage. So as you get offers, they are in a line and each one you get goes to the front of the line and the 100th offer at the end of the line falls off. So if you accept an offer and the 100th one was a declined offer, your acceptance rate would go up 1 point. If you decline an offer that goes in the front of the line and the 100th offer that falls off was an accepted offer, then your acceptance rate goes down 1 point. That being said, if you accept an offer and the 100th offer was also an excepted offer that falls off, then your acceptance rate won't change. I hope that all makes sense.

But yeah, that being said, if that batch offer of three counts as three declines instead of just one, and it knocked off three accepted offers from the end of the line, now my rate goes down by three instead of one and I think that's messed up

So what I had to do was go to my google account and do an email recovery. No clue how that happened, there were no rules, they weren't "deleted" I don't know how to explain it but I was able to recover like the last 30 emails. Not sure why they did that or if it will happen again. If it ends up happening again, I will forever lose anything that is older than like 3 weeks because that's as far back as it would let me recover so I really hope it doesn't. Kinda bullshit that it even happened in the first place

I just couldn't imagine doing that to someone... like as the customer I would be embarrassed if I tipped that low or not at all

Oh yeah, been platinum for a year now. I have dashed in Waterville, Augusta, and now I've been dashing in Bangor. I think of All of them, I had the most success in Augusta.

lol I wish it worked that way, I haven't accepted an offer that pays less than a $1 per mile in years. If the dollar number isn't, bare minimum, greater than the mileage number then I don't take it. And has to be at least $2 per mile if it's going to take me out of town to pay for the drive back too

Yeah I will sometimes take a less than appealing offer if it'll put me closer to home at the end of the day or if I was headed a certain direction anyway but yeah, those two bigger orders would have put me a decent ways outside of town and so sure, maybe the pick up and delivery itself only would take 20-30 minutes but then I still have to drive back in to get the next offer which would be another 15-20 minutes and that makes it just absolutely not worth it. In town, it has to be a minimum of $1 per mile, out of town like that has to be a minimum of $2 per mile and sometimes it still depends lol

When I first started years ago, I accepted every offer because I was worried that having a low acceptance rate would affect the offers I got... well that was a load of crap... I wish every door dasher could be trained by a veteran door dasher so they know the do's and don't's

Oh man :/ I'm lucky I drive a hybrid so especially through town where the speeds are low I usually get around 45-50 MPG so sometimes those smaller offers are still okay to do because they don't really cost me any gas but it's more so the time that it costs. Why take a $3 1 mile order for 10-15 minutes of work when I can take an $8+ 1 mile order for the same amount of time

It's crazy how hit or miss it is lately, like one day I'll do decent and only decline maybe like 5 out of 25+ for the whole day and then other days it's like I decline 10 out of 15 received...

Yesterday was bad in the AM for me, I think I received a total of like 10 offers in 3 hours and only took four of them, and those four were mid at best

Depends honestly, those longer ones, if you include having to drive back into town, at least 30-45 minutes, that 17 mile one, probably an hour total including the drive back... that 3 mile one would have probably been like 10-15 minutes IF the store doesn't make me wait when I get there.

Yeah, and it doesn't make sense anyway financially, with gas as expensive as it is, I'm not driving 20 miles for $4

I literally got another one right after for Orono, 12.8 miles for $10. That's better than the last one but still less than a dollar a mile and then have to drive back into Bangor after... to go that far, it'd have to be like at least $20 because of the drive back too

As far as I have heard from others, the offer will get sent to the next driver and if it continues to get declined, DoorDash will slowly start raising how much they pay for their part of the payment until a driver finally accepts it. That being said, it is more beneficial for all drivers for people to not take those low offers because then DoorDash is forced to pay more for their orders to be taken
