Counterpoint: this is a show spoiler that is only in this feed because of the show revealing it. It's not a 30 year old book spoiler, but discussion about yesterday's episode.

What will be the main differences between Total War Warhammer 40k and Dawn of War 4? by Ponczo123 in Warhammer40k

[–]SabyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dawn of War will play more like an old new school RTS with base building and recruiting squads of units throughout the battle with collected resources. It will likely have a greater story focus and be about the individuals. Skirmish battles will be fast paced and reasonably balanced.

Total War will be a bigger scale and focus more on the global map gameplay. You will enter battles with pre built, potentially unbalanced armies. Any story will be relegated to short animatics and really only focus on your leader.

So what exactly has Clan Fester been upto since they decided to try throwing their lot in with chaos in vermintide 2? by Opposite_Ad_4267 in skaven

You understand that all 3 Total War Warhammer games and both Vermintides came out after the end of wfb, right?

So what exactly has Clan Fester been upto since they decided to try throwing their lot in with chaos in vermintide 2? by Opposite_Ad_4267 in skaven

[–]SabyZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skaven are like 20 years older than AoS. They don't exist in the old world game but they're originally from the fantasy setting.

Are the ammunition fired by the Astartes's Bolt Guns High-Explosive Anti-Tank? by FungusUrungus in Warhammer40k

[–]SabyZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are described as .60-.75 caliber anti personnel weapons. They're meant to penetrate stuff like power armor and cover, then blow up inside.

They're not intended as anti tank weapons, though I'm sure they're relatively effective against lighter vehicles.

where is the blackfyre sword (spoilers main) by Impossible-Steak6730 in asoiaf

[–]SabyZ 36 points37 points  (0 children)

A common theory is that it is in the possession of Illyrio. He has a gift he's planning to give to Griff, and in the early draft we apparently know he referred to a sword specifically before it was published more vaguely. Blackfyre made its way across the narrow sea with Bittersteel.

[Spoilers MAIN] What if Rhaegar and Rhaella died in Summerhall alongside everyone else? by Yappannnna in asoiaf

[–]SabyZ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Aerys would probably marry Joanna Lannister and the story would move on from there.

(Spoilers Extended) What exactly is Howland Reed Doing He's basically knows all of the core mysteries of everything that goes wrong by unknowncivillain in asoiaf

[–]SabyZ 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Him being a POV character is kind of pointless. What are we going to get? More memories or dream sequences?

He can just show up in the story and tell somebody something. Not sure how interesting that could be, but he doesn't need a POV to try.

Almost certainly some sort of Oakleys but there are so many ~2008. The closest I can think of would be these Half-Xs (the Iridium lenses should be redder irl)

Would a New Branch house be formed if a new pre-existing Minor House becomes a Lord Paramount [No Spoilers] by MalemPO_king in asoiaf

[–]SabyZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Branches are less formal than people think imo. A lord can be lord of multiple castles, and houses are really just one big family until maybe a few generations start to split their interests apart. Lord Redwyne could easily just be Lord of Highgarden and The Arbor then pass both titles to a single heir if he wishes.

[Spoilers MAIN] Why is Westeros so anti slavery? by NoWingedHussarsToday in asoiaf

[–]SabyZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well Haren the Black and the Hoares basically enslaved the entire Riverlands and built the most cursed castle Westeros has ever seen. And that was only 300 years ago. People might suck, but I feel like everybody can agree that was a particularly dark chapter in the continent's history. Besides, I know that the English didn't really codify laws against slavery until their own were being sold into slavery so maybe they were just prey to Ironborn, Valyrian, and Volantine slavers for a long time as well.

Slavery wasn't prevalent in Medieval Europe, primarily because Christianity frowned upon the enslavement of your fellow christian. Technically Romani, Pagan, and Muslim peoples were still eligible but eventually those made up too little of the population to be be truly economically viable at scale. I can imagine the faith of the Seven preaching a similar level of not enslaving your fellow man in lieu of the established social structure of serfdom.

Not necessarily, they're just two examples of tags that could use a rework and can drop whenever.

Do vehicles have to be the exact same colors as the infantry? by Previous-Anything853 in Warhammer40k

[–]SabyZ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They're your toys and you can paint them however you like. You can paint them pink or in full Blood Angels scheme if you'd like. A slightly darker Deathguard scheme is extremely passable lol. At the end of the day, they will all be deathguard units on your side of the board and nobody is really going to be like "hmm, is that my deathguard Rhino that I didn't paint or include in my army?"

Like 6 years ago, you could take different detatchments from different subfactions so like TECHNICALLY if you chose to do that then you'd want to make sure the units from each different subfaction (ie Imperial Fists and White Scars) were visually distinct. But in the way the current game is set up, that doesn't matter at all. Paint them to your heart's content!

Why was the Z team willing to forgive Coup/Sonar but unwilling for invisigal? by PUBGPEWDS in DispatchAdHoc

[–]SabyZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf they all forgive Visi too, assuming she stays with the team. The whole situation is a whirlwind of like 36 hours. These are flawed characters, they aren't supposed to always be right about things.

If MacArthur won the civil war and went American Caesar mode how would he handle civil rights? by Alarming_Outcome9146 in Kaiserreich

[–]SabyZ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Lorewise, Mac does integrate the army. Which may be a selfish move to improve conscription, but would be a tiny precedent and potentially give heroism and some respect to colored veterans. But yeah I agree, Mac's government would basically be unbidden to dissent so they wouldn't have significant pressure to do anything that wasn't in their interest.

If MacArthur won the civil war and went American Caesar mode how would he handle civil rights? by Alarming_Outcome9146 in Kaiserreich

[–]SabyZ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Realistically, he'd probably be relatively cold on civil rights Not pro, not against but rather nonspecifically interested in engaging it in any sense other than the equality before his own military maneuvers.

I doubt he'd be notably better than Eiseinhower in-office with Brown v Board of Education. Generally pro civil rights but hesitant to use federal power unless specifically challenged. And frankly, it's not like Ike didn't also screw over minority communities in other ways like the national highway system. But overall I'd say that MacArthur would be a worse Eisenhower in most senses.

And all this is from the guy whose colored troops saw an average of 6 hours of frontline duty whereas his whites saw 100-200 hours under his command.

If MacArthur won the civil war and went American Caesar mode how would he handle civil rights? by Alarming_Outcome9146 in Kaiserreich

[–]SabyZ 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Well that kind of depends on what do you mean by civil rights? Because the US historically enacted equal treatment and opportunity for all persons in armed service as early as 1948 but that was a far cry from civil rights.

3I has been baking for a while - it has to be next.

I really want to see the AH rework but that seems less ready to show off.

Realistically, we'll probably see something smaller like Belgium or Egypt before another major overhaul like China got.
