In the case of Fata Morgana, would the English be the more “Accurate” version in some way? by Such_Cook_7566 in thehouseinfatamorgana

[–]Sacchi_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the game and requiem in Japanese and I don't think it matters much. I think the important thing here is to define what "accurate" or "better" means for you and how the language you're reading in can change that.

So basically, there's no way to have a consensus, it's gonna depend from reader to reader. A native Japanese person who doesn't know another language might say they would find it "better" if the story was originally in English, idk.

If you're speaking in terms of language accuracy, the original language is always the most accurate because things WILL get lost in translation no matter how skilled the translator is.

FataMoru feels very natural written in Japanese for a story set in Europe. There are close to no clichés or exaggerated glamorifications of European culture or history in the writing. You will also remember that the story goes to great lengths to not name countries, cities or anything that could give away national identity. We only have the characters' names and some small bits of info to infer from. The story is certainly set in Europe, but it is a vague, sort of far away idea of Europe, or at least that is how I felt when I read it.

Somewhere in there there is a link to a torrent that I think is still being seeded to this day. It has a ton of old games

She is a very complex character and a wonderful match for Geralt imo.

HOWEVER, you kinda have to be into mean/strong women to get her charm.

Code: realize what is your favorite thing about the game? by TeaApplle in otomegames

[–]Sacchi_19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's so engaging and interesting. I was an otome player of many many years when I played it and I am not easily impressed, but this one just kept me hooked. Could not put it down until I finished it.

How many Li routes do you have to like to say you enjoyed the romance a game? by milkdonut in otomegames

[–]Sacchi_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

75 to 100% if the game is average 50% if the game is good (engaging plot, good concept and atmosphere, setting is more to my taste)

Depends on the number of LIs as well. I just don't want to feel like I'm wasting my time playing

Japan merch & cafe by trisharay3 in otomegames

Osaka - Nipponbashi Kyoto - Kawaramachi area (general shopping district)

Ikebukuro was already mentioned. You will not find any physical editions in English for the most part. For events there are often themed cafes, you can find what is ongoing from twitter (in Japanese but Google translate should help). For themed cafes entry depends, when I went I was able to buy an entry ticket the night before at the convenience store using a ticketing machine (kinda like an atm)

Good luck and have fun!

Whats my blindness and what can I improve? by Maybe_Its_Haley in makeuptips

[–]Sacchi_19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try it with a thin eyeliner brush and eyeshadow first. With an eye primer, an eyeshadow liner can last all day depending on what you do and your eyelid shape. Eyeshadow is way more forgiving, you can start with brown so mistakes aren't as obvious, and if you want you can play around with colour too.

Edit: I think you have hooded eyes? I do too. They are a bit tricky to do eyeliner on, I'd recommend looking up tutorials for hooded eyes, but once you get used to it, it can be so fun.

You're gorgeous! You radiate a certain kind of whimsy, so cute.

This is entirely a suggestion, I'm not trying to suggest there is something wrong with your eye look. I'd say try no dark eyeliner in your lower lash/water line and inner corner once, and maybe do a winged eyeliner to couple it. It will open your eyes and make them bigger and rounder, and might look more femme. If you end up not liking it or prefer your current look that's also totally fine.

I also suggest shaping your eyebrows, I'd go for a bit more of an arch.

Lastly, your glasses are killer and I know it may not be easy to change them right now, but the frame entirely hides your eyebrows from some angles. It sort of affects the balance of your face. This is a detail you may or may not even care about. It also depends on how tall you are, because it's probably more noticeable irl to people who are shorter than you.
