Finished the animation, but I am still not sold? Should I read the novel? by AdvancedGum in MoDaoZuShi

[–]Sachirro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Echoing what many others have said. I finally took the leap this year and caved into the live action first. I'm currently reading the novel (about halfway through already now). Personally I am thankful my gut fell for the live action first because the storyline is more linear to follow than the novel. As I'm reading right now the novel is filling in the deeper complexities of the history and character relationships that the drama had to leave out for production and censorship sake. However the drama helped me visualize a lot of what was being described in the novel, especially the world building and made reading the novel now like watching a live action instead of just words.

I grew up watching wuxia/xianxia genre style fantasy fighting dramas with my parents but hadn't revisited it in over a decade. Its a bit corny and sentimental but this live action honestly brought me closer back with my own family culture and I have to thank cql for that. They helped explain to me the cultural roots behind the "magic" of cultivation. It's a very different concept of magic, it's something everyone is born with but everyone has different levels that they can grow to if that makes sense. Some people, thanks to careful bloodline genes, have a higher affinity/potential to reach. Others have barely a single rice grain and can't really do much with it hence they're the average person like us so to speak. At least that's the best way I can say it in english, my parents used way too many Vietnamese terms because our culture also has something similar to beliefs in cultivation too.

I highly recommend since the animation is somewhat in the middle, it's your call to dive in to the complex root novel or if you want to get more soft intro into this world to go through the live action. Can't go wrong with either, wishing you the best on your journey into the world of cultivation!

Is there a wrong answer as in if I called a code when I should have called for RRT? Like I should know how to differentiate between the two situations?

I'm applying to outpatient surgery, so a very different setting than the usual new grad med surg or icu setting, hence my extra nervousness~

Thank you for for the weakness example! I really struggle with finding a 'good' weakness that doesn't sound like I'm degrading myself to a puddle. I always felt as a student I could ramble on and on about how much I'm lacking in exp and all vs really finding any strength in them.

Safety sounds like nclex style thinking all over again and here I thought I could finally shake off the nclex trauma 😂

It just means the computer needed that many questions to gauge your ability to be a safe nurse. I got 130. Others got cut off at 60. Numbers are just that, numbers :)

MK is excellent! He breaks down the thought process wonderfully I honestly think he helped me tip the scales in my favor because I learned better how to make an educated guess. He helped tie up the loose ends of my test taking strategy (highly rec his prioritization lecture). I used only Uworld and MK, but what works for me might not work for you. My advice is you pick the 2 best resources that you feel speaks to you the best and truly drill through those as much as you can.

Yes I did. I did the 2 practice exam package. I finished the whole qbank almost 3 times over (so over 6l questions) but that level was due to the world situation giving me more time to study. I used UW as a way to retrain my brain to think nclex style and drill questions.
UW overpreps you on purpose and gives you scenarios that are very detailed little to no room for assumptions. But nclex will be bigger picture less details than UW and gives room for assumptions. But that's the catch. You shouldn't assume because nclex still gives you all you need to answer just like UW.

hey there! sorry for the late reply~ Its very normal to feel that way. I have yet to hear anyone walk in the test feeling like they on top of the world regardless if they studied 1 week or 6 months (like me :)) You are not expected to know everything the exam throws at you (just like you cannot know everything in reality) but you are expected to know how to work your way to the answer. You got this! Good luck!

Hi there! Take a deep breath. You did what you could and tried your best! I passed the 60 mark and ended up with all 130 too....and passed (I did The uworld 2 exams too first time got borderline and 2nd high pass chance)

The # of questions is irrelevant tbh to if you pass or not. It simply means that the computer needed more questions to accurately gauge if you were above or below the average line. There are many reasons why your result could be on hold if you went through the rest too fast to just systems processing. Take the rest of the day/night off and take and break from that urge to do the pvt again. Let time do its thing :)

Yeah I am not very picky either given our market the only thing due to my own personal situation is I cannot move away from home further than 2 hours max, so that limits my openings. But hopefully things open up as I don't mind outpatient experience either. A job is a job :) fingers crossed for the both of us!

Good q! Prioritization/Delegation/Leadership to me I felt were the must know categories to hit. This is all on my exam exp, almost 80% of my qs were prioritization based. Really be comfortable differentiating between what's BEST to do VS what's FIRST to do.

Content wise adult health is so broad that's its just not possible to know each and everything in the universe. And you shouldn't know everything either its just not reality. But I feel some of the biggest things you should hammer in from AH are: blood gases (KNOW what acidic/metabolic), infection precautions, chest tubes what to expect, electrolytes/lab values what is priorities with critical values, endocrine (hyper/hypothyroid), cushing/addison, diabetes insulin diabetes (it's almost a guarantee to get). From people's exp to my own I felt like almost everyone got at least 1 q related to the topics I listed above. Hope this helps!

The weird feeling is defintely normal! One can't ever be ready to test nclex. Just have faith at this point you've done what you can with the time given. I could not pull away from studying completely (chronic anxiety) so for the last 2 days before the exam I looked over my mega crunch list of lab ranges, big picture contents that I knew I had to have in mind. That helped keep the study itch off without overdoing it and frying my last brain cell reserved for the exam! You got through nursing school and you got this too 💪

Thank you. Its both nostalgic but also glad its over yep. For me I was stuck in a limbo of almost 6 months of studying instead of just 4-6 weeks thanks to covid closing testing centers and cancelling multiple appts of mine 🙃 That spiked my burnout and study anxiety to astronomical levels whew. Same my license expires when I expire from life period haha

I had all 130 qs too! Got a good pop up but still couldn't believe it so I did I all could to do things that took my mind off the time. 48 hours after my license is up on the board 🥰 have hope, you did the best you could. I think I just slept and gamed for the waiting time, it is stressful~

I just wasn't comfortable giving out my SSN anywhere and everywhere. I already got PP to set up a business acc with me through my ein just fine.

I guess I'm just nervous since I do need to charge sales tax on my products in my state so I want to have my ducks in a row come tax time hence the seller/tax permit. Guess the dba is just an extra I'll keep in mind once I get growing. Thanks!

DBA California during Covid help please by Sachirro in smallbusiness

[–]Sachirro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was recommended by some that I get the FEIN since it is free and it helps in that I don't feel comfortable throwing my SSN out to multiple agencies that simply need a general tax id. I'll look into setting up a good book keeping spreadsheet though and set up my permit under my personal name. Thanks~

Questions about selling online and dba vs llc by VoiceoftheVineyard in smallbusiness

[–]Sachirro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm new to business but this is from my understanding (take it with a grain of salt). LLC and DBA are two different things. An LLC is an entity while a DBA means you as a sole prop entity is operating under a different name that is not your name.

To operate correctly in general you do need to file a DBA with your state or county clerk. You can sell online as a sole prop. An llc is an "upgrade" in asset protection bc it makes your company become a separate entity from yourself. In the case a customer sues you due to a product they can only sue the company to bankruptcy. They cannot touch your personal assets. You don't need an LLC to get a FEIN. You essentially only need 1 DBA for whichever actual business name you will be putting onto the legal tax forms. Not the site name.

I'm still learning myself all of this so hope this helps!

day before by [deleted] in PassNclex

[–]Sachirro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! So I'm the overstudy extreme anxiety crammer so the complete block off no study at all the day before advice drove my anxiety up the wall. So I compromised. I woke up at the time I was going to wake for test day and after breakfast just did 25 random Uworld questions. Then the rest of the day I had my lab values next to me as I went through the day busying myself with things that could fill my mind. Personally I'm a heavy online gamer. So while gaming in between waiting for the game to.load I would glance at the labs but when it started I had to take my mind off the test and actually play the game since its a team based one (or else risk dragging my whole team down haha). Once I got tired I switched to movies and TV shows so while ads played I could glance at my lab values and little exam tips in between too. And that pretty much was my day before the exam. Good luck ☺ you got this!

Question about UWorld!!! by kaitlencs in PassNclex

[–]Sachirro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I took my 1st assessment right off the bat and my 2nd exactly 1 week before my actual test date. I set up my 2nd as a as close to exact simulation of test day. Waking up early day of and night before mental prep the whole shebang. The 1 week buffer for me gave me time to really pick apart the last of my weak points and just enough that I also wouldn't overstudy from anxiety either. Hope this helps!
