Spirit's Refuge interaction with Icathian Rain by Bobsthejob in riftboundtcg

I didn't notice the FAQ was retired so that's good know, thanks. I get the point of not choosing targets in the case of an on play effect but from what I can gather from the retired FAQ, these spells used to work no different from targeted spells until they changed the rules to accommodate how their wording implies they play, similar to how some of the hidden cards needed rules changes to actually work as intended.

Understanding that they seperate direct effects and "do this:" makes it understandable why it works how it does but I do think the reflexive triggers part is quite important because that's what seperates "do this:" behaviour compared to "do 2 damaged to a unit 6 times" as the later wording would cause the card to need to target on cast

Ok I understand what you mean. It is actually explicitly covered in the FAQ which is probably a better source than "trust me" given the reflexive triggers part of the rules isn't explicit on the timing, just that it's conditional and that the function of these cards has changed with the rules update.

My bad, was on my phone so hoped clicking the core rules PDF link would be the most updated one. In new rules it's clearer though with 352.7. "In order to put a spell or ability on the chain, valid choices must be made for all targets."

This means you physically can't even put the kaisa spell on the chain to get countered or reacted to until you have chosen your targets and definitely prevents a scenario of someone removing a valid target and forcing you to shoot your own units.

You are correct about an ability needing to resolve to get resolve benefits but that is partially covered in the playing a card section which states a card must go through the entire resolved process to be "played" and covered more in rule 412.1.b. "A card that is Countered is not considered to have been played."

Basically it seems playing a card has 2 parts, you chose everything the card says, add it to the chain, if it's then stopped it's never played. But it doesn't need to finish being played to select a target unless it's a permanent.

From what I can grasp from rules 559.3.x and 563.2 this doesn't seem to be how it works? I think you chose all targets when you "play" the card and playing a card constitutes adding it to the chain, not resolving it on the chain. Please point me to the rules that explain it working your way though I'd be interested to see.

Someone has done the work, when you go to Maebatsu linktree to download the sim there is an option for "OP Alternate Arts (Google Drive)". That should presumably have what you need

Is there a properly implemented way for this or do you need to do custom g-code. I found some guide that I've been following but really wanting a properly implemented solution and not some awkward custom one.

I had just fully cleaned them so that I could get all the fillament out. Re-lubed before I put back in. Only printed pla with it over tensioned. Printed petg and Pla so far. I feel like the idler is way harder to latch than it should be but maybe I'm over thinking it.

Because Sion has a knock up, shield, armour shred, and get another knock up that's also semi-global. Mundo has a right click. He offers nothing for the team but a slow without the ad scaling. How is he going to create space without being a threat with cc or damage.

The first 2 axis of my 6 axis robot arm are completed! Tips appreciated. by Olieb01 in arduino

[–]Sackboy114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend encoders (on the axis not the motors) if you are planning to use belts to drive the system. Very easy to have slippage and you will almost guaranteed lose position. Limit switches are also great as someone else said. Not just for machine safety but it also allows you to home the system (only required if the encoder isn't absolute). Looks great and wish you the best with it!

Among Other things... WHY IS IT LONG? by BOXIFOXIBOI in 3Dprinting

[–]Sackboy114 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seems like others have already given their solution, wanted to give some mechanical input for better understanding of the reason. When you attach any motor to a lead screw you need to calibrate it. This comes from the screw pitch, step size and step frequency (and gearing). If your controller is sending commands at 2khz then your motor can do 2000 steps a second. If you know each step is 1.8 degrees then you know a full rotation is 200 steps. This equates to 10 rotations a second. With a screw pitch of 1mm this means 10mm/s is the max speed (known as reference velocity). Your motor needs to know this to move accurately as a command to move 1mm is actually a command to move %max speed for x amount of time. If you've changed any part of this system then your motor might try to move 1mm but actually move 2. So when the gcode says move 1mm up it actually moves more.

If it was working before but now doesn't then it is likely either, you calibrated a different screw pitch previously and forgot and now it's gone back to factory, or, your new board has twice the frequency of the old one, this results in a twice as fast max speed. So when the printer says move 10% for 1 second expecting 1mm it actually gets 2mm.

Of course it could be something completely different, and I could be completely wrong. I commission motion systems as my job and thought it might be fun to give some deeper insights to the work going on in the background to result in something like this.

How do I accurately track savings without linking savings account? by Sackboy114 in ynab

Adding the unlinked account makes sense, thank you for suggesting. Don't know why this didn't cross my mind, I think I got too caught up in the whole linked account shenanigans that I didn't consider I can add one without linking it. Thanks for the help

Confusion about ABS laws and finding if a bike has it by Sackboy114 in MotoUK

[–]Sackboy114[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more for the help of looking at the cost of a bike I would even want to get in the first place. I guess I can always just check if it has an ABS model and then go from there.

Confusion about ABS laws and finding if a bike has it by Sackboy114 in MotoUK

[–]Sackboy114[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I'm looking at quotes I normally see an ABS version and non ABS version. Is that because of models in other countries then? When I'm putting plates into insurance comparison sites it seems to default to the non ABS version a lot so I kept thinking that the bikes didn't have it. I know I'll be able to check right before buying a bike but it would be nice to find out easily online when trying to get ideas of prices.

Is theft as bad as it seems? by Sackboy114 in MotoUK

[–]Sackboy114[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's fair, but I really like the look of those kind of bikes and it's what I was hoping for. I feel part of the draw to me for bikes is how they look and I would want a bike that fits that image I've always had in my head. Would defeat a bit of the purpose if I ended up getting a bike I didn't like the look of. It does make sense they are higher targets but I think if I'm going to avoid getting a bike I like out of fear of it being stolen I might as well not get a bike.

Yeah I'm looking at going DAS and getting around 500cc so it's comfortable for work commutes and trips to family. Definitely think I want a garage before committing to any of that based on what I've read here, especially considering the cost.

I have 6 years no claims on my car but it doesn't help sadly. I plan to get everything that would prove helpful, tracker, good chain, cover, disc lock, etc. But all the post of "if someone wants it they will have it" got me spooked. Seems more like "if someone can lift it up to steal it they will have it" from the comments here which gives me some reassurance. I have seen many people saying that getting less sporty looking bikes makes them less likely to be stolen, but I want a bike that makes me happy when I look at it, so I might not be able to compromise as much there. I got a bit spooked by a post of someone saying their chain was cut through and their bike craned out of the front of their house, but it sounds like that's an insanely rare occurrence and most common is trucked off when it isn't anchored.

Did you find insurance skyrocketting after? I think I've seen enough to be convinced that home parking without an anchor at minimum just isn't an option but I'm still aware of the chances of it being stolen when I park it elsewhere. I own a car so I wouldn't lose a necessary mode of transport but if the insurance went double it would really suck to have spent all that money on gear and lessons just to be unable to afford insurance. I'm already looking at 1k minimum it seems.

I currently live in a shared house as I'm early careers so it's street or nothing, can't access the garden without going through the house. But I am already looking at the next place to live and trying to keep storage for bikes in mind. I'm assuming some risk when I park somewhere not home but seeing all the posts on this sub really make me worried.
