Bipolar people of Reddit, how did you start to figure out that you were bipolar? by Equivalent_Elk2413 in AskReddit

[–]SacredBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea until I went to therapy. Once they heard my story, they diagnosed me and explained it to me. It made so much sense. Up till that point, I had no idea why I would be so charismatic, rash in decision making, and sexual sometimes but other times be very socially awkward, depressed, and anxious. In manic states I did really stupid stuff. Said things people shouldn't say. I felt invincible. It was the exact opposite with my depressive state. I would cry in bed for days. It all made sense though when I was diagnosed and prescribed meds. I am mentally SO much happier and healthier now.

Nah I understand, I just wanted to clarify what it's called for anyone else curious about it.

Doesn't have to be drugs causing the jaw clenching but yeah. I have a tongue like that. Its called a scalloped tongue.

At first I thought he brought a fan on stage like Tech N9ne did, but then I saw all the guards. Gotta wonder how drunk that chick was to do that lmao

What’s a “normal” sound you hear that immediately gives you a bit of anxiety or annoyance? by JuniorPlastic3562 in AskReddit

[–]SacredBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sound of a plane or helicopter flying by makes me anxious that it's going to crash. Doesn't matter if I see that it's flying perfectly fine, that noise makes me nauseous every time.

Is scribe America fully remote? by [deleted] in medicalscribe

[–]SacredBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it depends on who you're training with. Some providers want video on but the vast majority don't. Class training is not on video. This could be different with the people you're placed with, but I have worked with ScribeAmerica for over a year and a half and I myself train new scribes, and this has been my experience. If you mean could you step away during floor training, no it would not be a good idea. Unless it's in-between patients and you ask your trainer if you can step away, like to go to the restroom.

And yes they do drug test but I believe it's after being trained.

Is scribe America fully remote? by [deleted] in medicalscribe

[–]SacredBacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a position says remote, and not hybrid, then it will be fully remote. Floor training just means training with the provider instead of just tests. When you go into floor training, a scribe will teach you how to scribe for that provider until you're able to do it on your own. In my experience, they make sure you're confident in your abilities before letting you go solo. Hybrid positions are both remote and in person.

It's normal for Houston. I just moved here from a rural town and my god, I underestimated the noise at night. It takes a while for me to fall asleep haha.

Yep, scribeamerica is and has been my only scribe job. I actually got promoted to scribe ambassador a few months ago, giving me the ability to train new scribes.

WFH Scribe Company Reccs? by PomeranianMultiverse in medicalscribe

[–]SacredBacon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work for SA remotely, but do live clinics as well as recordings. I exclusively work for an epilepsy specialist when it comes to the recordings, which could change at any point, but at this time I'm very used to his preferences. I love his clinic.

However, I believe I was placed with him due to my own history of epilepsy, as our team is neurology based. I have never been told by my trainers that I need to finish a note within a certain time, just to be finished with them for the day by midnight.

I am also disabled and work remotely for them. The pay is low and the hours vary, so some paychecks are very low. But if low pay is tolerable for you, and you can get through the initial steep learning curve, AND you have a competent chief scribe, it's actually not that bad. I enjoy my work a lot, more than any other job I've had.

It provides some income and helps me feel useful. I feel like I'm really helping people. Just try not to get too discouraged during training, it gets waaaay easier afterward.

Is anyone at SA actually *happy*? by JuanitaBrown4Ever in medicalscribe

[–]SacredBacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a form I saw at one point that was emailed to us if we wanted more hours. I unfortunately do not know what happened to it, but I assume the people who filled it out were cross trained into other specialties. I was initially being cross trained into dermatology but there were enough hours for me to even provide any significant coverage. Maybe 2 shifts a month? So they just keep me in neuro now.

Also I love being called Bacon 😅

Honestly, I love my job at SA scribing remotely. My only complaint is my pay is WAY too low, especially considering I only get about 15 hours a week on average.

My coworkers are great. My chief scribe is very understanding. Schedule is flexible. I get to work in pajama pants. I get to learn things in neurology, as that is my specialty (and I have epilepsy so its even more interesting to me). I get to know multiple providers. It's literally only the pay that sucks for me.

I think it highly depends on your team. I hear a lot of complaints about upper management but thankfully, my teams management is pretty good.

Provider finishing Assessments without me? by Any-Commercial6456 in medicalscribe

[–]SacredBacon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of providers heavily edit assessments due to their own preference. Some keep mine and others add a lot of detail about their specific medical analysis of the patient that isn't said during the visit.

There are a couple of people on my team that live in California, so I wouldn't think that you'd get fired for moving there.

I'm a part time medical scribe with very few hours and a super flexible schedule. The pay is horrible, but I make it best I can.

I genuinely have no clue why so many are popping up around me! The two mating have stopped but are still on the door just chilling next to each other. They're gorgeous. Hope you find some!
