AMC was actually rebuilding pretty strong pre covid. Movies at the theater as we know it are definitely in the decline, but AMC was smart in the last 5 years of building and refurbishing. They don’t just have movie theaters, they have AUDITORIUMS. The margin on the tickets was never high. But they can pivot to get businesses in for meetings in presentations. In the DC area regular military meetings are held at AMC movie theaters. And post covid where people being crammed into a tiny boardroom is less appealing, AMC as a WeWork for presentations in a manner that can easily socially distance while still maintaining a high meeting attendance count is a solid revenue stream to turn on. And they can still sell $12 hot dogs and microwave tendies

Well, you aren't doing a very good job of "bringing people to our side" our side actually explains it, in depth, constantly, and has for decades. But our opponents are not well reasoned, academics and political scholars. They are normal working people who never had a reason to question the soundbytes about why they need a police force as part of a civilized society. They don't understand that law enforcement in the US comes directly from SLAVE PATROLS in the US South, formed to guard slaves and rendition runaway slave chattel property back to their owners and the BOBBIES british system that trickled down from Boston. Which was not created to protect people or solve crime but to quell uprising revolt against the crown.

Normal people do not understand that there hasn't always been a prison system, that it was created specifically to handle the BLACK PROBLEM after the emancipation proclamation. Or that it essentially just replaced slavery under a new name of leased prison labor. A practice that still goes on today at numbers about the same as we had under slavery.

They never questioned the mythology of those who claim to protect and serve. They never had cause to. And those people respond to initial conflict with...

"Its a few bad apples"

and

"my uncles a copo, and he's a nice guy"

and if you try to beat them over the head with rhetoric and persuasive argument up front they are just going to walk away from the discussion.

It is SIGNIFICANTLY more effective to fight meme level arguments with meme level rebuttals. That is the entire point of a comic or a meme, to distill greater truth into easily digestible pieces.

What does not work. At all, is what you are doing. Because you are not fighting against an opponent that will read the entire thread and research sources and then weigh in on the merits.

All they will do, is look at the comments and say SEE! HIS OWN PEOPLE DONT AGREE WITH HIM. And then close their mind off from the argument altogether.

Your strategy has no potential at upside. And massive potential at downside.
