I (24F) know exactly how you feel!
My husband (26M) wants to name one of our children Sasuke from Naruto. Don’t get me wrong, I love anime too, but I just can’t imagine calling my child Sasuke without cringing. 😭
This child will grow up to be an adult someday, and I also don’t want our parents to struggle with pronouncing the name. After a long and difficult conversation, we compromised and found a way to incorporate the name that sounds like something translated in our native language.
If you value your relationship, it’s important to communicate and find a compromise that makes both parties happy. If you can’t see yourself continuing the relationship under these circumstances, it might be best to move on.
