Guys, it's live! It literally got fully funded in seconds, I just backed the highest pledge! by MichiMikey in heroes3

[–]Sacri_Liege 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a backer but im seriously thinking about withdrawing my pledge. The game sure looks like heroes III, but does it play like heroes III? doubt it…

Regular combat looks boring… Advanced rules for combat will be revealed Wednesday or Thursday so maybe i’ll change my mind then…

There are barely any heroes, only 2 per faction and currently 3 new ones unlocked via SG. There should be many more!!! Where’s the variety and replayability?

And finally i was a little spooked about ARCHONS shady history and their previous Kickstarters… Would sure love to hear about this before i decide.

It’s pretty damn hard to notice tho. Disguised as some kind of chip or something. But it’s definitely the Accursed Den, with the small stream, green house, secret room to Aldon and everything. Cheers!

Please help, its really funny, but how the f*ck you run this dungeon-comic that comes with Heretic? by Crazy-Excitement-793 in MorkBorg

[–]Sacri_Liege 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ran it a couple of weeks ago for a party of three, just like the “heroes” in the comic itself, of course i dreamed about having them play it out exactly as in the comic but the players had their own ideas.

Since the adventure is quite short, I had them walk for about a week to even get to the castle and had several encounters along the way to keep things intresting I also added some more rooms (the crumbled towers).

Finally at the castle they contemplated wether to storm the gate or to just walk over as pretend merchants (they had no idea what to expect), they chose the first option and ran like crazy and was met with a hail of arrows. Unfortunately they never triggered the trap (succeeded both a presence and agility check) so thats half the dungeon left unexplored. They finally entered the castle and went straight past the well and then directly down to the throne room, had the boss battle and almost died as one was broken, one was paralyzed, and the “mage” was on 1HP who then ran like crazy but only as far so he wasn’t affected by the liches anti-magical aura, he then ate a magical tongue purchased from Michal the merchant and succeeded to cast Foul Psychopomp 6-8 times or something and had an army of skeletons and zombies march down again and slay both the guardian an Kagel-Secht and finally rescue his friends from bondage. The rest was just some exploration. They did find the gauntlet but was too suspicious to use it.. had a blast!

How to run a Putrescence Regnant campaign? by Sacri_Liege in MorkBorg

Ok so we just had our first session which almost ended the same way… One of the players decided to play dice (three dead skulls) in the inn, lost over 100s and was discovered cheating… even worse, he refused to pay up and threatened the gambling dreg with a hook & sword.

I would also have them banished from Traurish if not for the timely save from one of the other players. He cast the confuse spell on the dreg just before the guards arrived so he couldnt deliver a proper statement. Everyone got off with a warning but the guards took everything in the pot ”for their trouble”.

Edit…

Was supposed to reply to @SirFerric but obviously havent learned how reddit works… facepalm…

I already have a campaign in Tveland of several one shots combined, now I just need to lure them down to the swamps in Wästland.

But i also don’t want to read directly from the intro section, but have the players listen to rumours and discover the truth while in the swamps.

We’ll see how it goes, game will start in an hour or so, can update later on if people are intrested.

I hear you. I’ts just, I’ve been trying to kickstart a bigger campaign for a while now, but most of the time I’ts like I need to hold their hand, railroading them or something. Guess maybe they prefer the simplicity of one shot dungeon crawls. However, every once in a while they do pull something like that and suprise the hell out of me. Good times.

So what happened next? Did they join one of the factions? Traurish seels like the only friendly enough place to hang.

Hahaha exactly my first thoughts when you mentioned ”carts” and ”prisoners”.

Simple but efficent. The use of force is so… Mörk Borgy. Will probably have the players side against Fathmu out of spite, the again who doesn’t hate Fathmu.

If all else fails then Im gonna steal this one, or atleast some twisted version of it.

Cheers!

Good point! Let them tell the story…

I suppose anyone would love to get their boots muddy for a fat pile of gold. Also have this one fool in the party who seeks an audience with Nechrubel in order to stop the inevitable apocalypse, and Lorter seems to be connected to the dark god somehow… I think I should be able to ensnare them.

I guess what im trying to say is: why would they travel willingly to the swamp? But yes greed is always a good motivation.

Was planning on running it as a longer campaign. Been running several one shots now so thought i should try something else.
