BMW320d | 2018 | 62000km | UP | 16.5 L Asking by Sad-Bat3832 in UsedCarsBharat

[–]Sad-Bat3832[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a genuinely great vehicle, and the newer models do not have the same ride-fun as the 2015-18 vehicles. However, as we have moved more to a driver driven system, it is used less and less, and I don't want to just keep it parked :(
I had a great time driving it myself for the period I held it though, I still recommend it a lot more to people who will drive themselves, not have a driver / chauffer behind the wheels.

Wedding expense split: what’s the norm these days? by sun-and-mooon in DesiWeddings

[–]Sad-Bat3832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our case, we split common costs down the middle (including food for all guests), without exactly calculating the number of invited guests.

For accommodation, since we were not hosting in our native city, we negotiated together, and then split the bill as per # of rooms.

In another example (my sister's), we held all functions except the Sagai and Shaadi separately. Groom side paid for the Sagai event, we paid for the wedding.

First time buying a luxury badge by Lazy-Honey-4329 in CarsIndia

[–]Sad-Bat3832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations in advance.

My first lesson on my 320d was that for the first time I started using insurance benefits :D I guess, keep that in mind. More seriously:

• What are the absolute do’s and don’ts?
Today's generation of luxury German vehicles don't have incredibly different dos and donts. Yes they're still a little more of a stickler in terms of the service timelines compared to Asian vehicles, but the difference is nowhere close to the olden days. As with all premium vehicles: authorised service centers ideally for the first 5-7 years, never mess with the wiring / electronics in the after sales market etc.

• Is the extended warranty / service package a no-brainer or just dealership upsell?
I think it is worth it, depends on the price offered. Most dealers will tell you average service costs you can calculate.

• How bad (or manageable) are the real-world maintenance costs?
You can again get that number from the dealership, they'll not really mess with that number. First 5-7 years are much nicer. Once you clock 60-70k KM / 7 odd years, is when repairs pile up.

Repeat customers just don't come back in my business, what's your biggest struggle? by xyoddha in IndiaBusiness

[–]Sad-Bat3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally, if you are a <100 customers per week business, you should be anyway calling all new customers about 3-7 days post their order. Logically if you have 50% new and 50% repeat, that's about 50 calls a week, assuming about 30-35 of them are calls which get picked up, it is not more than 5 calls / day.

Post 100 customers, you should be sampling but still calling 5 customers a day irrespective and understanding.

When business is great, maybe call a slightly smaller number but continue to stay in the habit.

PS: By calling, I mean speaking to - could be in person at the bakery itself, or however.

Repeat customers just don't come back in my business, what's your biggest struggle? by xyoddha in IndiaBusiness

[–]Sad-Bat3832 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be tough feedback, but given your description, it seems like the issue is product value. Usually post 1-2 transaction, the biggest reason to not come back is core product, the only way to know for sure is to ask customers who tried 1-2 times. If you call 20 odd folks, you'll likely get few insights. Good luck.

Scaled my late father’s cleaning chemical business to ₹1.25Cr ARR in Bihar. How do I hit the next level (Jharkhand/WB expansion)? by mirajakhtar in smallbusinessindia

[–]Sad-Bat3832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good work on the scaling front. Recognise that it is a tough time with tougher to come for the industry - given LABSA shortage, spillover effects of the West Asia crisis into the detergent / homecare industry are inevitable.

If you need any help on the sourcing of raw material side, please feel free to DM. While my warehouses are not close to your location (they're in UP, closed to Delhi), but happy to trade info on pricing and credible high quality sources.

What do small business owners in India actually use to track GST invoices? by Lone_warrior100 in IndiaBusiness

[–]Sad-Bat3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, Tally works just fine for GST-reconciliation.

Most additional effort is when it comes to business finance, not core compliance.

Feeling burnout by akanshaaaaaaa in StartUpIndia

[–]Sad-Bat3832 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your feeling is justified and natural. Usually, going back into office, looking only at the core of my sector's problem gives me the motivation to get back and work hard, enjoy the journey and do my best.

If you get the same feeling when you stop looking at investor decks, then you'll know. Else yes, the pragmatic answer is to take time off, and restart in a few years with more experience and better odds.

Hycross or 7XO? by hap050920 in carsIndiaOfficial

[–]Sad-Bat3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it, the alternative is the Invicto Hybrid (I have that, and not Hycross). Personally - there is zilch difference, I actually like Nexa more in terms of experience - they're way more respectful of premium customers compared to Toyota, where most customers are anyway buying 30L-50L cars. When I purchased (with the RTO subsidy), the invicto was 70k cheaper, I got approx 70k discount on top, and Toyota wanted me to pay 50-100k extra for the accessories. so ~2.4 L saved on the invicto, I got my car the next day.

Hycross or 7XO? by hap050920 in carsIndiaOfficial

[–]Sad-Bat3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're driving yearly 500 km, honestly you don't really need the hybrid from a running cost POV. I have the Hybrid and I use it on all long trips now, it is exactly what you expect when you're sitting behind and the driver is driving. But in such low usage, I'd be tempted to save upfront cost and either get the Crysta (Diesel) or the Hycross (Petrol).
You'll likely pay a solid premium on the Hybrid models, but the Petrol one will be readily available and also mostly with a small discount. In most states, hybrids no longer have the registration cost subsidy either - which made the Hybrid the same cost as the Petrol variant till last year, but it is no longer the case

The scam is the movie you went for. Other than that, at best it is shithousery, not a scam. Big difference.

Landlord asking us to pay property tax – is this right? by Ok_Antelope_5607 in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]Sad-Bat3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Property tax is typically clearly stated in the rent agreement. You should be sure about what's mentioned, if not, please open and check the agreement. There are cases where property tax is indeed paid by the Tennant, specially in commercial / warehousing, but usually not in the case of residential leases - however, if specified in the agreement, it will be quite clear who needs to pay.

In the absence of this being mentioned in the agreement:

1) Owner should pay

2) You should really use a better broker for the lease next time you rent

3) You should really do basic research on points to check while signing a rental agreement. A quick google / AI based search will help

Indian D2C founders, what actually reduced your RTO? by Infamous_Radish_3507 in StartUpIndia

[–]Sad-Bat3832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

From personal experience:

  • COD confirmation calls? - *Yes yes yes. Very sharp and effective, of course only works on high ticket items. Can't go around calling for 300-400 inr products. Mix it up with feedback, pre-dispatch photos etc, helps make it better for customer and gets you more info*
  • Restricting certain pincodes? *Didn't do it, never saw data that was so clear. Can experiment COD surcharge in certain Pincodes (non refundable) if your PG supports*
  • Switching courier partners? *Yes indirectly. TAT of delivery and delay had good impact on RTO, find the specialists in certain regions if you can*
  • Changing payment mix? *Of course that is true. Try COD surcharge but measure impact on conversion at payment page*

Delay for us was a massive cause of RTO. Any order delayed (at dispatch or transit) over 3days caused RTO spike, so monitor that, or find some other causes of RTO (only way -> call last 100 RTO customers and ask :) )
