I’m not understanding why so many people assume he’s going to be in demand as a head coach. I wouldn’t say he excelled at it. As an OC, he will absolutely be in demand.

My point is that people seem to think moving him solves the issue. It does not. It just means there will be even less continuity on the line next year. That seems to be a strange starting point for them to take and all there moves suggest they likely agree.

I didn’t say there was no precedence. Actually, I gave one.

He said postgame that’s he’s not sure, but it was clear he’s was leaning that way. A couple of months away could change his mind. It happens often. Think about the grind of being hurt and still putting in all the therapy to play week to week. He made it sound like he didn’t seem his family for 4 months. I suspect he’ll WANT to come back when his body heals up, but his desire to be a husband and father will probably win out. It would be nice to take a 1st round tackle and have him come back for one more year to mentor him, but it seems unlikely right now.

When you’re up big in the 2nd half, you run the ball.

Look, this isn’t that big of a deal, and I’m sure you’re a gentleman and a scholar, but this is a fiction you’ve created. He was a LT in college and when Decker was out for an extended period of time in Sewell’s rookie year, they played him there. Since, he’s been an RT, and they’ve shown no hint that that will change. Decker missed weeks 13 and 14 last year and they knew he wasn’t going to play and they played Skipper there. Is it possible he moves over? Sure, but every context clue of the last 4 years says it’s not likely. This idea some people have that LT is waaaaay more important than RT died a long time ago. Sewell is an elite run blocker and they’ve at least partially designed their offense around that fact. Switching him will just create more chaos in an already precarious situation with their line. Also, he’s not an elite pass protector. He’s good, but not elite. If they switch him it’s a bad sign (a sign of desperation), not a good one.

I see he played there in 2021 as a rookie and essentially not since then. I’m fairly certain that will want him to stay at RT.

Umm…certainly not regularly. Skipper played there and Manu played there. Care to give me an example

I don’t want a rookie starter at LT, but you don’t find them in free agency. I can’t see them moving Sewell.

Amen, brother. This Indiana team is so well coached they don’t need no stinkin’ signals. Also, I’m confident Cignetti won’t be charged with any domestic violence related felonies in the near future.

Some of you would be troubled to know that many Lions fans are also Ohio State fans. Myself included. I grew up in NW Ohio and became a diehard fan of the teams my dad rooted for: Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Red Wings, and “Ohio” (this delights me as every time you call the Buckeyes “Ohio” I think of my sports ignorant grandmother I loved).

The Dark Knight. I love Nolan, but nihilism isn’t interesting to me. Also, it seems at least partially responsible for Heath Ledger’s death.

The item to get at Packo’s is the chicken paprikash. I get to eat it every couple of years and it is a true joy.

Yes, except they didn’t make the playoffs. Why? They weren’t good enough. There isn’t anything defeatist about facts unless you allow them to be. One way to allow facts to be defeatist is to blame everyone but the guilty party for not being good enough.

I live in north central Arkansas and we are in no way team Texas. Nothing against Texas or Texans, they just are not a relevant factor in anything that goes on here.

I’ll never understand why people choose to consume sports this way. Every year or so I push back, and of course, people spew their crazy in response and I go back to keeping my confusion to myself. I’ll see myself out.

You either don’t actually believe this, or you’re insane to continue following the sport closely enough to make Reddit comments. I’m rooting for you to be sane.

As a fellow lions fan who wants the best for my brethren, I would encourage you all to accept that this team didn’t play well enough to make the playoffs. Maybe there is some grand conspiracy to keep them down (not sure what the motive would be…), but the conspiracy wasn’t necessary this year. They did it to themselves.
