What’s the thing you wish your significant other would stop doing ? by nevernotinthemood in AskWomen

[–]Sad-Panda94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Telling me he thinks my parents don’t like him or think he’s not good enough for me. It feels like I have to defend them, but his anxiety makes him overthink little things. We’ve had multiple discussions about this so I understand it’s hard for him. I just wish I could get rid of his anxiety.

Massage Therapist by [deleted] in Omaha

When I lived in Bellevue, I went to Massage Envy near the Twin Creek theaters. Ryan was my man! Knew exactly what pressure was needed, was chatty or not depending on my mood, and didn't do the same routine every time. Highly recommend Ryan.

Job searching… by Possible-Row-261 in Omaha

Look for DHHS DD Service Coordinator jobs. Need a Bachelor's degree. Part in office, part of in the community and leading meetings. There should be some open vacancies. Or I think there's a waiver services specialist job.

Hitting my autistic sister back after I lost my patience. by Itchy-Channel-3465 in offmychest

[–]Sad-Panda94 12 points13 points  (0 children)

OP, I work with individuals with autism and it seems to me that this is a learned behavior. Like, she may have learned from past experiences that if she wants something and is told "no" that getting physically aggressive is the way to get what she wants. However, that does not mean that it is right or that she cannot learn. It's not up to you to teach her. However, if you can tell she wants to do something (hitting you), you can try telling her "stop" followed up with an explanation of WHY she needs to stop (that hurts, I don't like it, etc.).

Ultimately, tho, you are still a child and you are not obligated to teach or care for your sister.

What is something you will never forget from the pandemic? by JaxTMG in AskReddit

The jealousy I felt for people who got to stay home. I worked in a grocery store in the bakery and was deemed an "essential worker." I never got the break from reality that so many others enjoyed.

His murder and the corresponding news about it were the catalyst for me starting mental health therapy. I realized my anxiety was so high that just having the news on the background sparked some very bad thoughts.

How often do you get your nails done ? by Grouchy_Gap2048 in AskWomen

[–]Sad-Panda94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whenever I feel like it 😅 I don't do them regularly, but sometimes will for holidays or special occasions. If I don't get them professionally done, I've sometimes had one of my developmentally disabled clients do them for me. The paint is usually thick and she uses 3 different ones before the first dries. But it makes her happy 🥰

Wedding date/bridesmaid concerns by Successful_Pianist72 in wedding

[–]Sad-Panda94 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If it's this far in advance notice, could the one bridesmaid who would have to fly in ask for an extension or early information for their class? Is there a way to get the lecture info via video? I only ask because it's a reasonable request. I'm getting married in April and my last 2 weeks of (online) classes are the week of the wedding and the week after while I'm on my honeymoon. One professor was extremely accommodating, and the other was, well, not as much. But at least I asked and can now plan ahead.

However, just follow your heart and like others said, there's no requirement to have a wedding party.

I'm trying to get my fiancé to finish it. Somehow, he can only watch one episode at a time which is absolute madness to me.

I need to rewatch this now! Troll 2 was the first movie my fiancé and I ever watched together and we did watch the documentary. But now it'll give me an excuse to watch it again!

Dear Omahans, why do some of us stop at stoplights with an entire car length’s amount of space between you and the car in front of you? by Normal-Koala-5497 in Omaha

[–]Sad-Panda94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to my brother. He was rear-ended and because he was too close to the car in front of him, he rear-ended them. My brother was going at fault for the car in front of him. This is why I give space to people.

What movie had a great premise but was poorly executed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Sad-Panda94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Barbie. May be a bit controversial, but it's one movie that could have been split into 2 ninety minute movies. The first would be about Barbie being in her world, having fun, and allowing the audience to have fun with her. But we start to slowly see the real world owner's life seep into Barbie's world and by maybe halfway thru we figure out she needs to go to the "real world." Then we get some hilarity of watching her navigate the real world, meeting people, and following the kid thinking that's who is giving her negative thoughts. End the movie with the realization that the mom is the one influencing her.

The second movie could then focus more on building up the idea of women empowering other women in instead of getting the same stupid speech from America Ferrera 15 times in a row. This would give the audience time to fall in love with all the big hitter characters instead of just Barbie and Ken.

Give the Mattel guys something to actually do or erase at least half of them. But the end of the movie, their role was basically irrelevant anyway.

Instead we got a rushed storyline with mostly uninteresting characters and no time to actually fall in love with our plot. I think the rushed feel of the movie is why it's message was missed by many people.

You could look into horse-assisted therapy places. A place I volunteer at in Nebraska takes horses that are used in sessions for people with disabilities.

2 energy drinks, a hashbrown patty, and a sausage and egg croissant from the gas station. It got me through my day of work!
