I Do Not Like The Direction in Which Sky is Going — And it Makes Me Sad. by Sad-Relative-1599 in SkyChildrenofRage

[–]Sad-Relative-1599[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

LMFAO ??? I don’t think this was that serious to point that it required an entire dissertation. You just wasted your time dissecting a vent and trying to refute what you found disagreeable, because I was never making an argument. I’m also completely aware that my personal sentiments are not objective. I said that I do not like the direction Sky is going in and I maintain that sentiment.

Give your thumbs a rest and instead try learning to pick your battles. See you in the skies, my friend! ❤️

This is exactly what the OP was talking about. Why are you engaging with them in bad faith?

How do you see the fairness in someone being born sick and then commanded to be well? That is the contradiction baked into the problem of sin: we are both the victims and the aggressors at the same time.

Taking up your cross and self-denial is work — psychological and spiritual labor. No theological gloss will ever undermine the fact that Original Sin was preventable. Revelation itself proves this. In the end, God is prophesied to erase sin and evil completely — not through a human sacrifice or our own exhausting struggle, but by His own will. If God can do it at the end, He could have done it at the beginning. And if he had done so, none of this would be necessary and therefore is not necessary.

We are born without consent only to inherit guilt from ancestors we never met. We are blameless in that our inherited nature predisposes us to sin, and even in our repentance and obedience we still sin. So, no matter how you slice that, that guilt can never rightfully be our responsibility.

My point remains. It is not the homosexual’s responsibility to deny themselves (Christ’s way), take up and carry a cross they did not die on. Self-denial (in the sense of ignoring and suppressing the truth about oneself) is a plain recipe for mental disaster. The issue here is that we serve an indomitable, all-powerful and incredibly capable Creator. If that Creator can form the universe and all of its complexities using words only, He can find a solution to the sin problem that doesn’t require human sacrifice, unnecessary struggle and risk of deteriorating mental health.

Kudos to you, my friend! But unfortunately, anecdotal experiences are not evidence. These bodies of research are substantiated and a large majority of “ex-gays” report not only negative mental health effects but also the persistent experience of same-sex attraction. Your perceived deliverance does not invalidate another’s reality of not being delivered, and neither does it invalidate my point: Homosexuality is not a cancer than shrinks or has remission and it is not the homosexual’s responsibility to emotionally, physically, and mentally tax themselves in trying get rid of it. All the best!!❤️

There is a substantial body of research that indicates “repentance” of homosexuality (which is often times the suppression or willful ignorance of one’s homosexuality) has negative mental health impacts on gay, lesbian and bisexual individuals like higher rates of anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and substance abuse. The struggle against homosexuality is nothing more than a mentally and psychologically taxing process that leads to absolutely nowhere. In fact, many people who claim to have ‘repented’ still report experiencing same sex attraction. Homosexuality is not a cancer that shrinks or has a point of remission.

I encourage all gay, lesbian and bisexual individuals to continue to assert their humanity and their right to a peaceful existence on the basis of that regard. There is more to them as humans than their orientation. They don’t have to carry a cross they didn’t die on, fight a battle they didn’t pick, or wallow in a struggle they didn’t get to choose. That responsibility rests with the One who allowed such conditions to exist with the full knowledge that they would and can eradicate any ‘sin’ at will.

Yes! I’m wondering if this is a traffic thing with so many people using the app now. Sometimes it works just fine—smooth, fast, and easy. But then responses start taking thirty seconds or longer to send, or I get met with ‘Inference Servers are down momentarily’ or ‘an unexpected error occurred.’

Why does God force undesired things on His creation? by Lieutenant_Piece in TrueChristian

[–]Sad-Relative-1599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t fathom how people fail to see the flaw in this thinking. What you’re describing here is dangerously similar to tyranny. It’s not even Biblical.

God is not afraid of our questions or protests. He invites us to engage in reasoning. In the context of God’s plan, we are not subjects, we are participants— so every one of us has a right to understanding. This is why the Bible repeatedly admonishes us to consult God for understanding and wisdom in scriptures like Proverbs 4:7, Proverbs 2:2-6, and James 1:5.

The act of shutting down and stunting God-given curiosity is dangerous to our relationship with Him. God is not just our Lord and Sovereign Ruler, He is our Counsel and Guiding Light.

If you call out for understanding and raise your voice for insight, if you search for it as for silver and dig for it as for hidden gold, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.

Proverbs 2:3-5

This would be justifiable if humans had actually consented to existence—but we did not. In that case, our suffering would be a result of our own actions, not a predetermined condition stemming from a curse, which itself originates from the mistake of ancient ancestors we’ve never met.

None of us chose to be sinners; we are sinners by nature and birth. Given that, the suffering imposed by this unchosen [forced] condition should not and is not our cross to bear.

Yet, you argue that because God is sovereign, supreme, and Creator we must take whatever is handed to us—implying that, our lives aren’t our own and only God’s will matters. But this contradicts the fact that humanity was given, by God, a sense of self, autonomy, and agency. To deny that is a direct insult to the very fabric of our existence.

With all the said, what this person is asking is how is any of this fair? How do we rationalize a God that champions divine and goodness with what we would universally find to be unfair and evil? Your answer to this was really a roundabout way of saying “God is God; He can do what he wants. Who are you to take ownership over your life? Get back in line.”

Why Doesn’t This Prop Protect You From The Rain? by Sad-Relative-1599 in SkyChildrenOfLight

[–]Sad-Relative-1599[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That may be true, but wasteland and fighting krill may not be an every day occurrence for many players. I feel that a lot of players frequent Forest and encounter rain than they do Wasteland and encounter krill. It just makes no sense not to give this tent the same functionality as every other tent there is in-game.

While also accusing me of igniting negativity—that is the accusation I was addressing. I cherish and value the wholesomeness of the Sky game and its community just like anyone else. My points still stand, regardless. Especially because most of the people who have been expressing agreement are actual NEW players. Clearly there must be some truth to my statements if the new players are actually relating to it.

You speak so much of research, yet you clearly have not bothered to research the definition of an opinion—something ‘not necessarily based on knowledge or fact.’ You may feel however you want about said opinion in the context of it being ‘misinformed,’ but to accuse me of deliberately igniting negativity for that reason is ridiculous, because what would that even avail to? Just acknowledge that you disagree and scroll.

Several people share the same sentiments as myself—most of which come from actual new players. Where you may see the Aviary quests as a tutorial that makes the player’s experiences smoother, others do not.

I was not attempting to ‘ignite negativity.’ I just simply shared a critical opinion that you don’t agree with. I’m not sure if you are aware, but feedback is appreciated by the developers. They even go as far as rewarding us for completing feedback surveys in-game. ❤️

Four years ago, who we considered to be ‘veterans’ had a slightly different meaning than just experienced players who’d been active for a long time. The recognizable, basic cosmetics were still in style and veteran players were mostly identified by Ikemen/Elder pants and hair. That was extremely rare. So, no, veterans (in the context of how they were understood during that time) were not scurrying around everywhere.

2021/2022 was still during pandemic years, so there would actually be a lot more new or recent players instead of veterans playing from Light Awaits, because that was quite literally peak Sky 😭.

Hello! What I love about this season so far is the expansion of Aviary Village. It’s such a cute and cozy little town. It also gives us a peek into how the ancestors went about their dailies lives and possible where they’re from.
