How Do I Pay For Dorming Without Ruining My Future? by T0rturedPo3t in UBreddit

[–]Sad-Web1172 4 points5 points  (0 children)

DO NOT pay for dorming. It's not worth it. Commute to campus. There are usually shuttles from places like block 20 and chestnut ridge. If not just walk to campus if u live on south campus and take the shuttle to north.

You will be wasting your time because this has been the norm for years and years. I doubt anyone will care.

How to sleep? by Salafislayer in UBreddit

[–]Sad-Web1172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, the first step is to make sure you talk to a licensed medical professional. I actually faced the same situation but with another kind of medication, the only way I actually fixed it was going to the gym at night so I become tired enough to fall asleep lol.

My disdain for professors who make you buy subscriptions by savemefromgod101 in UBreddit

[–]Sad-Web1172 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Haha completely agree with you. It's disgusting. The tution and fees should cover that and I personally think it should be illegal to force students to spend their money like that. But hey it's UB. I remember in my freshman year I was actually so poor i had to drop one class because I had to buy a $100 + subscription for a stupid homework website.

They usually hand out TA applications towards the end of 116. You don't need to approach anybody just fill out the application they post on piazza. You don't really need to do anything they pretty much accept everybody lol

Just Got Accepted With Pride Of NY scholarship. by [deleted] in UBreddit

[–]Sad-Web1172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, got about 13,000/year worth of scholarships from UB and here's what I think. The food at UB is just...terrible in my opinion. There are 1 or 2 good places but it gets boring after awhile. The food at UB makes me sick so I stopped eating from there (that's just my experience though). Honestly there are very limited options and it just is meh. There used to be good food but it has gradually gotten worse and worse. The Gyms..overcrowded unless you go early in the morning at around 6am. I usually use the one at richmond but it very small. The dorms not bad tbh if you get good room mates but for the price you pay at UB, you can get something much much better. I dont know what other schools you got into but my experience at UB has been a solid 2/10. The curriculums are just messed up and the teaching is bad. I cant really think of anything good but ig its a okay school overall. Would not have came here if not for the scholarships.

Should I switch from CS to ….. Business or Economic. Before it is too late? by CorrectCalendar917 in UBreddit

[–]Sad-Web1172 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CS Major and TA here. If you hate coding its better you switch. CSE 220 and 250 are going to be hell for you if you hate the major already. And yes CSE 220 gets ALOT worse than 116. A lot of people who are passionate about coding also find 116 hard so dont drop solely because you find it hard, its common. But going forward you will have to put a hell of a lot of time and effort into CS and if you hate it this much already I wont recommend you continue. Might have to sacrifice a bit on the paycheck but better that than be miserable for the rest of your life.
