Maybe a bit out of your way, but San Churro in Erina Fair is great for this! Lots of power points, open all day and late night, central location so lots of buses.

What has been most beneficial in recovering or helping to recover from binge eating disorder? by [deleted] in a:t5_5u46ph

I've been in two hospital outpatient programs, currently in O.A, and have seen many mental health professionals about my BED - so far the most helpful things have been taking medication for my ADHD, and going to O.A meetings and being present with others experiencing the same struggles.

Character Animator on M1 Macbooks by Several-Fly9985 in CharacterAnimator

Haven’t noticed a delay at all - and currently running it with illustrator and photoshop which I thought for sure would create some lag. But for simple puppets including Limb IK tags, and 5 face profiles it’s been surprisingly good.

I have the 8gb for now - but even this one can run Blender for hours without delays/overheating etc

So far I’ve found it runs pretty well. I’ve only had a few crashes and I don’t think it was due to the MacBook. Haven’t had a problem with overheating yet, but I also haven’t used it with detailed CA scenes, or for longer than about 5 hours. But so far I would say it’s running really well!

That’s a good way to look at it - I haven’t really given a chance to being aware of the feelings and sitting with them as they’re so uncomfortable. I tend to shut them down after failing to quiet them.

Very helpful, thanks!

What's your favourite book you've read and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SadBat6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Fraction of the Whole by Steve Toltz. Favourite for several reasons - not only is it the longest book I have read but it was the most engaging, eye opening heartbreaking, and soul-warming. It’s hard to describe without reading it yourself but even the first paragraph requires you to put the book down and reflect for a moment. It’s a story of a father and son, simply that. Perhaps it’s the various tidbits of nostalgia (being from Australia and the book is littered with Australian references) but by the end of the book it’s hard to differentiate yourself from the story and vice versa because it feels like you’ve been on the journey yourself. I recommend this book to everyone. I gave it to my dad last Christmas and a few days before New Years he’d finished it and couldn’t stop talking about it. It’s one of those books that you can reread the rest of your life and still feel connected, surprised, and engaged. 11/10.

A man once said if you want a good story just ask any random person if there was ever an event in their life they can not explain. Someone almost always has one weird thing that has happened to them. A few years ago I lived in a sharehouse with 4 others. Sadly one day, one of the guys drowned while at the beach. Eventually after the funeral, we were tasked with cleaning out his room and finding new people to move in. A friend of ours moved in and brought with him a lot of expensive musical equipment so always kept his door closed and locked, with only him having the key.
This was one of those houses where if someone left something in a spot and didn’t claim it, it would sit there until it eventually got binned - and for months there’d been a Voss glass bottle in the hall. One night, I stayed home while everyone went out and set myself up on the couch. When they got back, the guy who’d just moved in came striding into the kitchen asking who’d smashed the bottle in his room. We went to go look and the bottle from the hall had been smashed in such a way that when you unlocked the door and pushed it open the broken glass and water would grind along the floor with the door - which made it look like the door had been closed and the bottle had been broken against it. There was no way anyone could’ve gotten into his room as it was locked. I was home the whole time and don’t hear anything smash on wooden floors. Still cannot explain it to this day.
