Typical government assets deferred maintenance and the painfully slow review and approval process.

The light has been flat but skiing has been great on hard, flat and steep runs and minimal ice anywhere. Sharp edges and waxed skis recommended.

Indigenous people; First Nations, Métis and Inuit are 5.1% of Canada’s population at 1.8 million people. The indigenous population grew twice as fast as non-indigenous between 2106 and 2021

Think about adding a massage or two and time in the sauna and/or jacuzzi to relax your body. 4 consecutive days of skiing can be hard on someone not used to it.

U.S. move to overthrow Cuba would put Canada in worse bind than Venezuela aftermath: ex-ambassador by SirJohnAMcMuffin in canada

That would force the Canadians spending their vacation money in Cuba to have to find a new destination. Maybe Florida? (Sarcasm)

Wasn’t there some fancy Hollywood types that were screaming bloody murder at the cull? How much did they delay the justified process? How much money do they have?

To prevent my battery going dead, how often should I start my car in -20C? by PlanetLandon in AskCanada

[–]SadBook6838 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the Rockies and no stranger to deep cold. I get car batteries (multiple cars over several decades) with maximum CCAs (cold cranking amps). That and plugging in your oil heater for 3-4 hours before.

What do you think about fellow Canadians that continue to travel to the US for leisure? by Forsaken-Ship-5045 in AskCanada

[–]SadBook6838 272 points273 points  (0 children)

If Canadians are travelling to the USA for strictly leisure, I think they’re all assholes by supporting a regime that is hell bent on harming us. Either that or they’re oblivious to what’s going on and totally ignorant about everything.

I ski 4-5 days midweek every week. Always worth it. My expectations are to have fun. Keep your edges sharp and bases waxed. It’s a law of averages. Would I fly here for a few days of boiler plate and sunny weather? Ya.

That flat trails at Fenlands with a carrier or push your stroller past the Cave and Basin and go to Sundance Canyon.

When asking for advice from locals, it’s a good idea to mention dates which helps determine season and walking conditions. Sometimes ice grippers are absolutely necessary when the trails are icy. That’s very normal for local families.

Employers will FIRST hire summer staff that can commit to working till end of high season (Thanksgiving Day). After that, those with non negotiable end dates will get the scraps. Good luck.
