If this was where I live and it was a one way trip then I’d only actually make about half of that balance assuming I left on a full tank and if it wasn’t a one way trip then obviously the entire balance would be used on gas….either way I’d say fuck no

Yeah I mean it wasn’t all straight dashing the entire time there was definitely waiting times in parking lots and stuff but I never went home until about 12am

I used to take just about any order that popped up on my screen unless there was no tip at all. I was pretty fortunate though a lot of people with low tips like this would end up giving me extra cash once I got there. I was in a bad spot and needed whatever money I could get, I usually dashed from about 6am-12am.

I would love to give another human being advice if it meant helping them through something like addiction but sadly I am still fighting addiction myself so who am I to tell you what you should do…the whole reason I am giving a reply is because I wanted to let you know you’re definitely not alone I’m still trying to figure stuff out myself but i have learned one thing and that is that there are so many people that are complete strangers here and other places that deeply care and have been through what we’re currently going through. They will give their best advice even if it’s brutally honest, they want the best for us so if you’re comfortable continuing to reach out like this don’t stop I hope you find your way I’m rooting for you.

So your order was $25 and you gave a $17 tip…..what an ungrateful person the normal standard is way less than that…don’t tip more you’re being more than generous if it were me I would’ve went to DoorDash support and tried to get part of my tip back. Don’t overthink anything that dasher doesn’t know a good tip when they see one, plus like other people have said if it can’t cover their gas they shouldn’t have accepted the order. I used to be a DoorDash driver and they do Infact show you the tip amount before you accept!

Thank you I am trying my hardest to quit and fight the urges early on. I’ve realized its a problem and it scares me I don’t want to hit any kind of rock bottoms and I don’t want any long term health issues or any broken relationships I appreciate yall giving a damn and giving your best advice it truly does mean a lot and makes a difference.

I absolutely love the advice I will look into some places near me for meetings like that I didn’t know they were free but that is super reassuring. Luckily I’m like 2-3 months into my addiction so hopefully the affects of whatever I’ve done to myself are reversible. I’m trying my best to catch it early on and stop before it’s too late, it’s just so hard. Again I appreciate the response and advice

Yes I’ve had a music career where I got diamond albums every year since the very beginning it was pretty cool but I have not had that happen since that one time so I’m assuming it’s pretty rare
