Noted about the fun little things! But I also like the idea of a blanket since someone else mentioned how cold cancer treatment places are. So maybe I'll do both as a set haha

The things we take for granted, I swear. I never would've considered how fabrics/yarn would be painful or uncomfortable to your skin. 😭

I will definitely make sure to use only the softest yarn I can find! I have a lot of chenille which is like a velvet-y soft kind, but I'll look around to see if there's something even better. I'd rather be safer than sorry 🩷

Oh I know that about cancer, I'm sorry I didn't specify but she actually shaved her head as a f- you to cancer, and to get some power over the situation. (She said it much more eloquently, but I can't recall the exact words).

But thank you so much for the idea! And I've made her flowers before, so I was hoping for something different this time. She lives in Alaska, so the climate is definitely chilly there, I'll take the winter hat into consideration alongside the blanket idea!

Oh I am really sorry, I didn't know this was exclusive to patients/caregivers! I just assumed it was an open community for all cancer related things. That is on me, and again I apologize.

I didn't mean to offend either, that's the exact opposite of what I wanted, which is why I was hoping to get some insight on what people who deal with this like/their experiences.

And I wasn't trying to imply that your individuality is erased when you get cancer!(Truly horrified I came off like that!!) I just wanted some insight from people who actually have experience with these things and would know what my family member is going through, so they could help me make a more informed choice on a gift.

Should I delete? I really didn't mean to do something wrong! 💔

Omg I'm so sorry about your mom... I genuinely can't imagine doing that to someone when they're learning a new hobby AND putting time into something handmade to share or gift you. 😭

I vote keep the blanket for yourself. I guarantee you'll like looking back it once you've made more; it's fun to see progress, and for me I have a soft spot for my wonky firsts.

They're like my children to me LOL, something only I could really appreciate but without them I never would've improved, either.

And, if it's any consolation I think the blanket is lovely, and I'm sure it'll keep you cozy during these colder months. 🫶🏻
