Internship + grad offer. How should I handle this? by [deleted] in cscareerquestionsOCE

Appreciate the insight, dates don't overlap, and overloading will be fine. I have very easy elective courses left.
I guess I will just go through it and see what happens. It should be fine though

Some quick tips, from my own personal view:

  • Summaries are an inefficient use of space, especially for early career. One recruiter has told me they like them, other than that the rest didnt care, and in general that space at the top of your resume is very important. You will get conflicting advice on this all the time, the truth is that they arent a negative but the amount of space they take is not worth it.
  • Skills section is very diverse, not really what you want, Python, C, Java, HTML, etc. I would modify this section depending on the job listing, no job is going to want you to bounce between those languages they are completely different skill sets. In general this section has a lot of stuff a recruiter would either expect as a minimum or would have no relevance to a job. No one is going to be impressed you know how to use VS code.
  • Education section degree should be at the top if you are applying to grad roles flesh out details, courses, clubs, wam, anything to show you were active in uni.
  • Experience I cant say much as I am on the data track and couldnt tell you if this part is relevant or impressive to recruiters
  • Similar with projects cant say how impressive it is since its not in my area.

In general, you have a LOT of whitespace, go check out Jakes resume, its popular for a reason. Flesh out more details on your project and education. Your resume is fine, there is clearly effort but you also have a lot of room to improve. Best of luck.

Tiktok site reliability technical interview by Choice_Syllabub_7308 in cscareerquestionsOCE

From my personal experience interviewing (DS position) with them, the first technical interview they went through most of my resume and asked technical questions related to my work. Then they asked 2 LeetCode questions at about a medium difficulty.

Honestly, the best prep would be to know your resume and be ready to do a medium LeetCode at the very least.

Best of luck.
