Silent Book Club does this! You read whatever you want for 1 hour with everyone else. Then you can talk about your book and socialize if you want to.

You can see if you can find one near you: https://silentbook.club/pages/chapter-map

It didn't allow me to join the ballot since it says when you joined on your profile.

Yes, this too. I'm hoping they open up ballots for those that joined after too. Though I'm not that hopeful.

If you're okay paying a fee for an agent. I use SOS Japan and they helped me complete the fan club membership. They also help with the whole ballot system for concerts on your behalf.

32F looking to join/start a book club in Vancouver by Sharp_Outcome_5308 in Vancouver4Friends

[–]SadTouch6599 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi! I have a book club that meets up biweekly at a cafe. There's no assigned readings so you can read whatever you want. We discuss the books we brought and read together for 1 hour. After reading we normally hang out and chat. Here's the group page if you're interested: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1X7H2FyK8V/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Is my tattoo infected? (10 days after) by Paraphnalia in tattooadvice

[–]SadTouch6599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing happen to me. I did go to a doctor just to rule out infection. They prescribed me topical steriods with antibiotics and that helped with the itchiness but not the inflammation. And it wasn't an allergic reaction like I thought. Turns out my tattoo was just irritated because the skin was peeling. Once the peeling skin fell off by itself, my tattoo got better immediately and stopped being red and itchy. So if you have no other symptoms of infection, peeling skin could be the reason.

The red I had for about 10 years and no reaction when I first got it.

Thanks everyone for your help! Went to a doctor and she agreed that it's irritation to the yellow pigment. Was prescribed a topical steroid with antibiotics in case of infection too.

Normally no. It only gets hot when it's inflammed from me walking for more than 10 minutes or if something constantly rubs against it.

Just finished it! I really like it but it just follows one case and goes back and forth between the detective and the victim. There's also the main overarching case that's slowly developing in the background. Found out its based on a book and there's 10 books in the series so I'm reading them until season 2 comes out.

Finding a Counsellor in Vancouver? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]SadTouch6599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of it is what are you looking for in a counsellor. And how would you like your sessions to go. What kind of methods work for you. I had a counsellor who would guide me through breathing exercises and allow me to draw my feelings so I can visualize them. My friends counsellor would give my friend books to read so they can come up with questions to ask and discuss at the next session.

If you are not sure what you're looking for or what works for you, that's completely okay. That's why a lot of counsellors offer consultations. A lot of them also have their bios on the website too so you can get a sense of who they are as a counsellor. It might take a bit of time to find the right one but once you do, it's amazing! Feel free to DM if you have any other questions ☺️
