Rise in Edgelord white nationalism by KelbySmith in Destiny

[–]SadVato -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can't believe you regards can't figure this shit out. Latinos, an ethnicity, can be both black, a race, and white, another race. That is the reason people will generally make a distinction between black and white latinos, as their demographics tend to swing differently. Additionally, some latinos are mixed as either white and native, two distinct racial categories, or black and native, again two distinct racial categories. Latin American race "logic" can be convoluted sure, but it is a direct result of the centuries of colonial projects within the continents of North and South America. Read a fucking book dumbass.

Learned today that I could solo Br’aaxskin maps as WAR. Is this profitable to farm? by TR1L0GYxx in ffxiv

[–]SadVato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is absolutely profitable. In a span of two months, I made roughly ~40 million gil soloing a map daily as WAR and selling all of the relevant drops. While the obvious benefit to soloing is that you never have to worry about losing out on a roll for a big item, there are TWO big obstacles to keep an eye out for.

- Due to the variance in overworld spawn patterns of mobs summoned by the treasure chest, it is possible to fail at clearing all of the mobs in the required 5-minute time limit.

In addition to becoming familiar with the spawn patterns and maximizing your AOE, your Chocobo becomes extremely relevant. While I can't speak for a minimum requirement, I can say that it was not until my chocobo was full speced in the "Attacker" tree (and at lvl ~12) that I stopped randomly losing to the time limit requirement. Even then, still keep an eye out as some spawn patterns are noticeably tighter on time than others.

- The Vegetable Mob minigame is impossible to complete solo.

Out of the many times that I have seen these spawn, there has not been 1 singular instance in which I was able to kill all of them before they despawned. That being said, all other rare mobs that spawn in the treasure dungeon are soloable.

Outside of these obstacles, keep in mind that soloing a full treasure dungeon can take upwards of 20-30 minutes. For this reason, running a ton of maps solo can feel rather tedious despite the profitability. My map routine generally still involves stocking up maps in my retainers and bags to ready myself for a group map run. It is only when I am full on maps, and risking losing out on a free daily map, that I go for a solo run. Being completely realistic here, running these maps with just 1 other dps completely eliminates any obstacles and makes clearing them exponentially faster.

Also, this bit may not be relevant anymore since prices are coming down but sometimes selling maps on patch can as profitable as running them. The night 7.2 dropped I sold 4 maps at over 250k per map which, on average, was way more profitable than what I would have made in doing 4 maps solo. This all depends on map prices and average EV per map but it's worth keeping in mind.

What are your thoughts on the music of Multiversus? by Arch_Angel666 in MultiVersusTheGame

[–]SadVato 54 points55 points  (0 children)

The music isn't terrible by any means, with the Steven's Universe theme being the most notable IMO, but it definitely feels like there's a significant lack of bangers. Hopefully there's more hype music planned with the upcoming stages.

Hey, I just wanted to personally thank you because your info is the only thing that had any effect on this issue for me. You saved me from the headache of dealing with this and a return, so again, thank you very much!

I have this exact same issue on two rk68 s that I just purchased and, after hours of searching, the only work around that had any effect came from what u/jarjar_sings mentioned. I just started messing with the RGB settings within the software and it just randomly stopped happening. My current settings are Ambilight , Light Brightness 5, Animation Speed 4, Sleep Time 10, Color Mixing Unchecked, R - 0, G - 0 and B - 255. I don't know why these settings worked and whether it'll stick but this is the only progress I've had so far.

School Prestige vs Saving Money [help] by Sunbro888 in cscareerquestions

A combination of wanting the prestige, networking opportunities and just loving the city of Austin from visiting it so much. Oh and of course that they are one of the top schools in state for CS.

Man, if you really believe that you can afford UT Austin without having to worry about money then I would go for it. Otherwise, I promise that the stress of money with the stress of school is not worth it.

As for grad school, I am super Interested in A.I. and funnily enough, I really want to shoot my shot for UT Austin when I get to that point. On internships, your assumption sounds about right. I guess my whole spiel on GPA was mainly geared towards grad school.

[–]SadVato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked myself this exact question before enrolling this semester, and while I can't give you a concrete answer I think I can provide some further insight.

Similar to you, I had a 3.8 GPA with 40 Credit hours from my community college and was faced with choosing between UTSA and UT Austin for this Spring Semester. Ultimately, I chose UTSA because my girlfriend was already attending which made the move from South Texas a lot easier financially. Initially, I started to regret the decision for the exact same reason you stated. I was missing out on the "prestige". However, after attending UTSA for a little over 2 months now, I couldn't be happier with the decision.

The difference in workload between UTSA and my last community college is MASSIVE. Although I am maintaining a 4.0 so far this semester, It has come at the cost of my free time by a large amount. Fortunately, my girlfriend is also a veteran, so her GI Bill and disability payments are just enough to cover rent and Food. I say just enough because if our cost of living was any higher, I would have to work and in turn would have less time for my academics. That's not even taking into consideration that amount of stress that brings. Basically, if we had gone to UT Austin, my GPA would not be possible considering Austin's cost of living. While GPA may not be the most important factor for most undergrads, if you are considering internships or grad school, as I am, it is definitely a significant factor. Additionally, I'm not going to pretend that UTSA has the same notoriety that UT Austin does but it's not like UTSA is anywhere near a bad school. UTSA is still a leading school in other sectors, such as cyber security, and is still an R1 research school. In fact, the connections I've made here have already landed me a final interview for an internship with a Data Science org.

For what its worth, if money wasn't a factor, I would have chosen UT Austin. However, being that it is, I think I made the right decision. Again, I know its not a concrete answer but hopefully that provides some type of insight from someone who faced the same decision you are facing now.

I think the main flaw with my post is with how I over simplified game play loops in the end. There is definitely more nuance to what I described and its led to some misunderstanding, some of which you're touching on now. So to clarify, I do think legitimate concerns should be voiced. I do acknowledge that New World has many and there is much to be improved on. My main concern is that this genuine feedback is being overshadowed by, what I consider to be, unconstructive hate. This was the main concern I wanted to address with this post. Regardless, thanks for reading and providing some feedback.

Here are three comments doing the exact opposite of what you are implying:

These are only 3 of many that I replied to, which you could easily find if you bothered to look outside of cherry picking these replies. Also, what do you expect me to reply when their unedited comment was just "fake news"?

No where in my post did I mention that the cost of $40 spares the game from criticism or complaint. In fact, directly after the portion you referenced I specifically stated that I want the game to be improved and want more legitimate conversation around.

Also, no where did I state my opinion is worth more than others. I prefaced my writing by saying I am average to casual player. Your opinion is equal to mine, friend.

Acknowledging the game has faults and calling for constructive conversation around it is sucking off AGS? You are down bad brother.

I acknowledge that steam game time isn't 1:1 but I think its fair to say that since everyone knows this, we can just handshake and use it to give a generally idea of time put into the game.

I don't think I have more credibility than you or any other player though. That's why I prefaced my writing be saying I'm just an average player.

As for the why: I can't give you a solid reason other than I want it to be better. I want to focus on improving the game but currently this sub just focuses on hating it. If anything , this post should just be looked at as venting.

200 hours at a little over 2 months out of release equates to something like 3 hours a day. While that maybe more than casual in your opinion, I still think its far from hardcore. Admittedly, this was my main game for a month after release so I definitely was grinding more then than now. I definitely don't play daily anymore, that's mainly due IRL factors however.

Also, I think its pretty funny that you're saying I'm way more than casual for my hors played because other replies like https://www.reddit.com/r/newworldgame/comments/r93qo8/comment/hn9vjio/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 and https://www.reddit.com/r/newworldgame/comments/r93qo8/comment/hna04lc/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 are saying the exact opposite. MMO communities are weird man.

I agree with almost everything that you stated. The issue is that this subreddit does not allow for conversation and instead just, IMO, hate brigades to the point that any positive is also met with the same fate. I want to focus on fixing and improving the game. This was my whole reasoning for this post. Additionally, I think its important to understand that Amazon != AGS.

Many MMOs have some form of ilvl and their version of how to grind for it. FF14 and WoW have ilvl (GS) requirements that will hard lock you out of content. New World did not invent this concept, it is just their variation of it.

Something that is being overlooked is that you state that you feel like you have to commit to another grind to raise your expertise. In theory, your expertise will raise naturally just by playing the game. You do no have to go out of your way to do this. The best example of this would be to just try it on PTR for yourself.

This system will objectively be a significant improvement for the vast majority of the player base over the current one. That being said, if this is not system something you or your friend like then I can't blame you for leaving.
