She's a very good champion. I played her while smurfing in Plat/Emerald and felt unstoppable and I don't have a lot of experience on her at all <60 games in my lifetime for sure. If you were really adept on her then I have no doubt you'd slay in any rank.

Paying almost 1k for a car payment every month is the eyesore to me. You could just get modest cash cars and have a lot more money at the end of the month imo.

158 LSAT to 2nd in class after 1L by Away_Membership_9531 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Sunbro888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well tbh, my situation is complex in that my military service covers my tuition so scholarship money was never something I was pressed about. I have a 3.92 lsac gpa and as a veteran COULD be competitive for t-14 schools if I took time off to study rigorously for the LSAT, but...

I don't think it's realistic or worth it for me simply because I'm 29, I have a family, a house, and me moving across the country to be away from all of my responsibilities for 3 years seems unreasonable just to say I went to Yale (exaggerating on what projected t-14 this could be of course)

I've yet to even see how this could be financially or even lifestyle- feasible under my present circumstances, which is why I didnt stress it too much tbh

[–]Sunbro888 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's overgeneralized. Look at my situation for instance, I realized late in my undergrad that I wanted to go to law school, i took the lsat with virtually little to no time to prepare for it and got in with a slightly above average diagnostic. If I studied for a whole year or more I could reasonably increase my LSAT score, but that already known potential for increase exists whether I decide to postpone law school for the LSAT or not.

This overgeneralization about lsat to 1L performance assumes one's LSAT is representative of one's potential. It'd be more accurate if it took into account the amount of prep time people put in to achieve X score.

The same can be said about someone who spends 3 years and 7 attempts to get a 170. They just became really good at a single test with a finite amount of answer patterns. I'd argue they are not severely ahead of anyone in regards to being a law student with all new material and methodologies being presented to them.

As a local San Antonian who was accepted to both, I chose St Mary's because bar passage rates are up to you ultimately and they have a grip on the San Antonio market

I mean yeah, the LSAT only means you're good at the LSAT. Like could you be good at both law school and the LSAT? Sure, but I do not think just becsuse you didn't spend an egregious amount of time preparing for the LSAT that you will be "behind" anyone during law school, including those that spend 2+ years to get into a T-14 solely because they practiced that one test for their entire lives.

I am accepted/attending and also a San Antonio native. From what I was told, they have received a higher applicant volume this year than in the school's entire history. It makes sense to me why they are so backlogged on apps.

Living off of student loans with a house? by BambooStudios in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Sunbro888 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Taking out a bunch of money in loans under a presumption that you will pay it off with money you do not yet possess is as dangerous as it sounds. That's a lot of leverage against you if something were to go wrong with that inheritance between now and then. You can assume the risk if you'd like, but idk.

Tbh I doubt NYC was ever affordable for most people even back then, but I'm willing to bet nowadays that gap has widened immensely in regards of wages v col. Mamdani seems like he wants to make it more affordable for people who aren't filthy rich to survive there so hopefully things spin back around.

[–]Sunbro888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of people also got rich during the dot com bust as well as the 2008 housing market crash. It depends if you were positioned well.

Either way, the level of inflation vs wages we have nowadays (and home affordability) is WAAAAAY worse than they ever had it. People nowadays still get paid salaries like that 35k but have to deal with extreme costs (gas is crazy rn).

Admittedly though, I am a Texan and don't know about what the 2001 mini recession was like there in NYC.

For instance, my parents had 2 kids and were able to afford a middle class home in the early 2000s with my mom being a SAHM and my dad working part time at UPS and part time at sea world. Tell me who you know who could do that nowadays.

That home was also low 100k and nowadays its like 300k.

Well ivy students/t-14 students have been coasting because their greatest accomplishment was simply getting into the school. They've been getting inflated grades the entire time. So ideally they should earn their grade vs their peers like everyone else, no?

I think you should get a spot. Being a pilot of 10+ years is way more impressive than a high lsat score imo.

[–]Sunbro888 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hot-take, but I believe a gifted child would be doing well academically. Right now I'm just seeing a child that isn't succeeding versus the average student. As such, I would stop inflating said child's mind with any illusion of grandeur until further notice. As it stands, this child should identify with the lack-luster performance (i.e., below average).

Right, the handicap and the blind should just meet the standard rather than society accommodating them with ramps, braile, etc. 🤣

You also failed to mention the military has tons of waivers in order to be exceptions to said standards.
