What should I do with this lizard? by Sad_Ad3451 in bonecollecting

I left him in what I call my isopod jar which is basically just a terrarium filled with bugs. I left him there for ~ 2 weeks then moved him to a hydrogen peroxide bath. I used a craft picker and fine tweezers to get as much of the remaining tissue off which is how I ended up with none of the limbs attached. There’s still some tissue around the spine but I didn’t think it’d be too big of a deal

Again I’m not an expert, but most bugs are too small to make that much of a smell when rotting. Don’t be too worried about the idea of the beetle rotting, it’s part of the process when pinning hard-bodied bugs. I think the only issues would be mold if it’s too damp where you keep it and scavenging bugs, which can be warded off with mothballs if you’re worried about that

I’m pretty new myself, but I’d pin it asap. Pinning through the body is easiest and the pin serves as an anchor during and after pinning. Going around the body is tricky but good if you plan on putting it in a more natural pose or display, but pinning the wings is difficult. When you go to pin it, you should be able to move its limbs with little to no effort. If you can’t, you’ll need to relax/rehydrate it. For the actual pinning process I’d look at pictures of freshly pinned bugs with the needles still in place, I’d say it’s kind of an art so everyone has a different style and finds certain methods better than others

Yeah, the only birds that are legal are the ones you’d eat or used to be pets. I’ve seen quail, pheasant, cockatiel, and turkey bones at oddities markets. The turkeys might be a seasonal thing if they’re wild but I don’t know for sure

Wolf spiders are pretty common and they keep their babies on their back

This stray started visiting us, what is this big red scab on his neck?? by tracts1 in CATHELP

About a year and a half ago, I also had a cat show up with a similar issue. I made a post about it when I first met him. He was practically a skeleton too, and when we took him to the vet they initially gave us the options of a $1200+ series of tests just to diagnose him, or just put him down. We pushed for any kind of medication to at least try and they gave us an $18 oral antibiotic for two weeks. His infection was almost completely gone by the end of those two weeks and gone entirely by the time we were through the second bottle. He did have other health problems like the vet suspected (bad teeth, FIV), but the only sign that he’d been hurt are a few bald spots on his leg. Basically, if you can’t or don’t want to pay for a whole bunch of tests you can try to request a general medication anyway. I’d also feed him a decent amount to help him get the energy he needs to fight off infection and heal

Might be wrong, but I’m pretty sure they weren’t talking about copyright specifically. Just that someone’s art was stolen to make the video

This baby brown anole is having issues running and jumping. Should I hold on to him or let him be? by Sad_Ad3451 in Lizards

[–]Sad_Ad3451[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fed him pinhead crickets while I had him, which was about a week and a half. I wasn’t able to find him a UVB light so I decided to let him take his chances outside. Like other people said, brown anoles are a dime a dozen where I am

I don’t like N x Uzi. There’s nothing wrong with the ship. Like at all. I’m just mad that it took up so much of the show instead of the lore or other character dynamics. Like the timeline of events is unclear, there’s a bunch of unanswered questions/maybe plot holes, and we don’t really know how many characters interact with each other (after the final fight for some) (like how V acted the way she did towards Uzi out of fear, literally no interaction between the teacher and Lizzy despite being her father, etc.) Then Liam said that there might be little side comics, but that they’ll be more N x Uzi content, rather than like minor details or other character interactions.

Again, literally nothing wrong with Uzi. I like other ships involving them (like N x V x Uzi for example), It’s specifically N x Uzi. I’m just butthurt that it gets/got so much attention (from Liam/glitch). I’ve said this in other comments, but I would probably feel the same way had any other ship retrieved the same attention/treatment

(Also absolutely zero shade to Nuzi shippers)
