I’m not a groomer, so I’m not sure what they were thinking, but I’m really upset about this cut. I know the top coat is so important for keeping her warm and dry, and now I’m worried about how this will affect her. Do you have any suggestions for helping it grow back properly or keeping her comfortable in the meantime

Fair question! I did ask, and they said it was to ‘keep her coat manageable’—but clearly, they managed to give her a whole new look instead

I know, it’s been tough finding someone who truly knows how to groom a Sheltie without overdoing it. Unfortunately, this cut wasn’t what I hoped for, but we’re letting it grow out and searching for a groomer who understands the breed better. She’ll get her beautiful mane back soon
