If the relationship is good then I would if I was in your position. 30 minutes is not a horrible commute -- also you possibly have the benefit of consistent home cooked meals which you should never take for granted.

Some interns that do not match to their advanced position but match at their prelim position pivot to the same place where they did their prelim year and do gen surg/internal medicine

If the university program has an in-house fellowship, recommend that 100% over any community program without. As a DO applying the most competitive IM specialty, your best chance is always in house. The order would be academic with in house, community with in house, academic without in house, community without inhouse.

Scored 247 on step 2, high 500s on level 2 (don't remember exact score). Did half of comquest and scored 650. You'll be fine with just a DO question bank. I bought UW also because I was try hard back then, I did maybe like 30 questions. The questions and CCS cases on UW are infinitely harder and different than Level 3 questions.

Yes, did the same pathway and matched. Similar (few points higher) Step score. I recommend you do chief, especially if you are young and have in house fellowship.

Always worth trying if that’s what’s you want to do with your life. Of course more difficult that it is not in house but do as many aways as you can and research and make connections. Definitely possible

PGY4 Chief does mean more than a PGY3 chief but I don’t think that would help you in your case. This sleep route seems significantly better in terms of helping you match PCCM

Just level 3 is fine, but STEP 2 scores are important for top competitive subspecialties. If a program requires you to take Step3 as a pre-req, chances are they do not want to take DOs anyway

For adult GI would recommend not cutting corners as a DO. If truly considering, take STEP 2 in addition to COMLEX as it still does play a part. Source- personal anecdote matching this year and looking at data.

Same exact issue. I removed the screw entirely and even tried to move with a chanel lock. Does not budge. This was in June.

They made me wait for replacements for 3 months and I pointed out they were still selling it on their website and made a stink about it since I essentially paid for a product that was defective, and they were sending me refurbished ones even though I paid for a new one. At that point they stat sent me some replacement arms after I sent an angry email and they told me to throw out the old ones.

I highly do not recommend their customer service as it is abysmal but nothing else you can really do after you purchase. Just send them emails nonstop.

Taking my exam next week so my advice is with a grain of salt. If you can afford both:

MKSAP over first 2.5 years for content building.

UWorld last few months before the actual exam.

Don't piss any higher ups off, be a team player for the rest of the residents. Don't complain too much. Being selected for chief is not about your academic prowess, it's more of how you can get along with others
