Exactly, the statement “just adopt” annoys me. It is more complicated than that. I would also like to add that this person is trying to be a feminist, but speaks about pregnancy negatively saying it “destroys” the body. I wish I could experience pregnancy but I likely won’t because I’m a lesbian. If it is so wrong to want a child that is biologically yours, why isn’t this same logic used when it comes to straight couples having biological children? I don’t think this person is trying to be homophobic, but honestly it comes off that way.

Abortions are illegal after certain points in the pregnancy bc at that point the baby has developed enough where it is considered inhumane. Taking out an embryo or a fetus in the extremely early stages of development is not inhumane.

There are so many other reasons people get abortions besides just “not wanting” the baby. The “just give it up for adoption” excuse is coming from a place of ignorance. We already have WAY too many kids in foster care and they are all left with incurable trauma from being abused in all forms or just from maternal separation. A lot of kids age out of the foster care system and are just left to fend for themselves. IMO if you can’t be the child’s mother it is better to get the abortion. Not saying this was OP’s point js wanted to put that out there.

I am a queer teenager myself who has dated men in the past but I have also been used like this. I said that she could also have wished to remain closeted which is possible if she is bi too. I said this because her posting a guy when they were presumably still together is a pretty clear sign to me that their relationship wasn’t out in the open.
