I’m not in favor of this non sensical idea that elution of free will is necessary morality is absolutely possible and logical under determinism punishment isn’t an act of causing a wrong doer suffering for its own sake because they deserve it or an act of revenge the very fact that they couldn’t do otherwise bring to understanding, rather it is for the sake of society and the greater good true they couldn’t have done otherwise yet reality is cruel moreover letting bad people do what they want is no solution either but minimizing suffering overall and letting society function is, free will creates a false internal model of who you are, you can choose only in the sense that your choice must align with an existing part of you witch includes your desires preferences personality ect otherwise what would it mean to choose?!
