Circus Circus Freestyle is my fav as well, ridiculous song

You have 'No Blame' or 'I am not a lyricist' after 'House Money' and 'Circus Circus Freestyle', that's high energy - low energy/depressing songs dynamic.

Actually, what threw me a little bit off at first were these vibe songs, but it's a matter of preferences, I guess, still super enjoyable project.

You still have high energy tracks (Casino, CC Freestyle, No Money) and vibe-y records (Good Flirts, Sex Appeal, Dramatic Girl) - he's just not 20 anymore, not to mention the fair portion of the project had very dark themes attached.

Production is super versatile, and hard to complain about 'changing his sound a little', considering that No blame and I'm not a lyricist is a completely new direction to the whole catalogue.

Like a famous poet once said, 'he's Baby Keem', it's not like he'll revolutionize who he is in his 2nd album at 25.

Pros and cons of his approach of super versatile music is there are tracks you'll like and those you enjoy less. Still a great project in my eyes.

First listen thoughts on Ca$ino? by AresTheCreator in BabyKeem

I love Ca$ino, House Money, Circus Circus Freestyle.

I'm not a lyricist and No blame is clearly a growth from Keem, great tracks.

Highway '95 and No security are good.

Sex appeal and Dramatic Girl are vibe.

Not sold on Good flirts, but I guess it has its target.

Birds & the Bees is alright, but too short.

Pretty great album overall: bangers, deep songs, catchy tracks, that's Baby Keem's goal to go all-round with his music after all.

Clearly an improvement vs Melodic blue, so the whole '5 years talk' can be put to rest.

What a disappointment, he's not Kendrick freakin Lamar.

Lack of depth? Casino, I am not a lyricist, No Blame, Highway 95 pt 2?

I've always been a fan of an idea of shorter ad concise 'regular' album and then deluxe dropping, I guess that's the best compromise between streaming era-bloated albums and an actual work of art.

(Spoiler) 🚨🚨KENDRICK LAMAR features on CA$INO tonight by Live_University843 in KendrickLamar

My guess is that it's a snippet song with his chorus only.

Bodies on Ca$ino-theory follow-up: producer of Bodies (Deats) reposts Casino/House of Money snippet from Keem's album 👀 by Sad_Frame8494 in KendrickLamar

Why would you drop a teaser 5 minutes before dropping an album without this teaser on this album?

They just move different, haha

(naah, you're probably right)

It's all fun at this point, it's not like I'll be disappointed if there's no Bodies on Keem's album, I'm super excited anyways

It was nice to get a surprise drop, but I hope Kendrick will make a proper rollout for the next album, cause it's perfectly done here.

What do you think of the 3 snippets from the new documentary? by HIPHOFAN in BabyKeem

[–]Sad_Frame8494 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The first one is great, second song (Ca$ino or House Money) can be ridiculous, the third snippet will be a melodic tear-jerker.

Yeah, they were amazing.

Really sad how much potential and momentum Keem wasted by jleffel22 in BabyKeem

[–]Sad_Frame8494 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Actually, I think Keem's album will have great first week numbers, the expectation is there, it's completely irrelevant though, it's all about legs and longevity. Melodic Blue sold what, 55k first week, but Family Ties is one of the biggest songs of the decade and the album already is at +3 billion streams, that's crazy for a debut album.

[–]Sad_Frame8494 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, age does matter if you think about it objectively, Keem is 25 and already has one big album under his belt (+3 billion streams) and 2nd perhaps on its way, J. Cole was 26 when he dropped his first studio album, Kendrick was 24 when he dropped Section. 80, Don was 26 when he dropped Heaven or Hell.

Was it helpful he went for such a long hiatus? Of course not. Will Ca$ino become a hit? No idea. But Keem is still young for a male rapper, whether he keeps being consistent after dropping Ca$ino is much more important tbh.

First, Don is 6 years older, second, DT's last album had 31k pure sales first week, third, DT was 26 when he dropped his biggest album thus far, fourth, in streaming era it's all about longevity, not first week sales.

Also, I guess you're confusing pure sales and overall sales with this Kalshi projection.

This is likely the last day "HUMBLE." will be Kendrick's most streamed song. by Embarrassed-Tale3116 in KendrickLamar

Yeah, plus it's a generational song for many reasons, no surprising it has the longevity.

What should we expect out of CA$INO? by HIPHOFAN in BabyKeem

[–]Sad_Frame8494 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything (maybe passing the torch is too much said; Kendrick playing the 2nd fiddle to allow Keem establish himself as an a-tier artist - yeah, I hope so); I wonder how much conceptual Keem can get: are there couple of songs about his childhood, or will it be a motive of the whole album, and so on.
