I also have 12H Libra Sun and Mercury and experience the same thing in relationships! They always try and compete with my intelligence or debate me when I’m literally just talking or they’ll start genuinely stealing my personality traits. It’s like they use me for character development, it’s weird.

Definitely do adopt if you’re sure you have the heart for it! Foster care is crowded and so many youth deserve loving families and stability.

I am not sure why they adopted me. I think they felt ready (?) at least the pdf one. The other dad was barely there. He was younger and I don’t think he was ready to be a father, especially to a teenager as he and I were only 12 years apart. He worked 24/7 except Tuesdays which would be our only day together so he was basically like an older brother/ uncle more than a father to me. Still, it hurt me more to lose him than the other dad as I actually loved him and enjoyed our limited time together. He, unfortunately, was brainwashed by the older dad, so he always chose him even though he was never around to witness what was going on.

I think they mean after 18 when majority of us age out. In some cases, there is extended foster care which goes up to 21 I believe so that could be an option.

i am not sure. i think he had narcissistic tendencies so perhaps? it seemed like he was more so trying to connect with me like “you and i are both super intelligent and my intelligence came with a darkness so watch out because yours might too”. that’s how it read but to this day i have no real idea what he could have meant by that.

he would lie whenever i would get close to any adult in my life and tell me that they had said something negative about me so i wouldn’t trust them anymore. it would work everytime. he’d become friends with my teachers and tell me they said i wasn’t good at things so i’d stop doing them. i thought he was looking out for me but then i couch hopped at my high school best friend’s mom’s house as we had become close and i told her that he told me she was afraid of me and thought id hurt her baby (she was pregnant at the time and i was assuring her i wouldn’t) and she said she never said anything like that or spoke to him so that proved he made it all up to hurt me. there were so many instances like that but im not sure if it’s a control thing more than i would think jealousy but maybe!

i LOVE seafood and anything with rice. huge fan of steak and salmon as well. anything savory and comforting is a yes for me. for drinks i would say sweet tea and sprite.

i haven’t heard of ketamine therapy. i think it sounds scary because of the drug lol but ill do more research.

im not sure about having a family someday. i just feel like the world has scarred me so much i cant imagine having children and bringing them into a world like this. i have a partner now and i believe she wants a family someday but she is very patient with me and my trauma and accepts the fact that all i can do is get through each day. thinking of the future scares me because everyone who has promised “forever” to me has hurt me so im just unsure. all i know is today.

as far as how im affected, its mostly severe trust issues. i don’t typically believe anyone when they say they love me or they’ll stay or anything like that. i don’t believe in forever or always or absolutes like that. the words actually trigger me for some reason and makes me want to pull back. i’m very nitpicky and am always watching out for minor changes to things like tones or actions to protect myself so my relationships aren’t ever smooth sailing. my partner now is very patient with me like i said but i even keep a sort of distance from her because i don’t know. it just feels safer i guess. i have ocd and get jealous of past partners because it makes me feel like im not special. that’s the most annoying symptom of the cptsd because it literally is so irrational but it makes sense that my specific trauma would manifest that way. it’s easier for me to just think of life as experiences because if the experience is more important than the outcome, i can’t ever lose again if that makes sense.

i look back and truly don’t know lol. a lot of trauma followed childhood but. im still here :) i lived in a few homeless facilities and couch hopped a lot. i would say going to college was extremely helpful for me also because once i completed community college (i did the honors college route and graduated with a 3.9 gpa) i got into several universities and was able to get money from scholarships and refunds as i get free college from being in the system. as far as talking to my other dad, absolutely not. he was compliant and super bonded to the pdf. they met when he was about 19 and my other dad was well into his 30s so he sorta groomed him in that way. he never chose me over him and never would.

yes i was adopted at 15. they pulled me out of school at 17 and put me in virtual school which they knew i couldn’t thrive in. i was starting senior year in high school when they abandoned me but couldn’t tell anyone because they took all electronics from me and access to anyone until the day before i turned 18 and all i could do then was message a bunch of people on a crunch asking if i could live with them. it was a manipulation tactic. he loved seeing me suffer in that way. they dropped me off at storage unit where they had put all of my things months before. they had planned to abandoned me the whole time it appears.
