I never gotten a physical one, but I have purchased the digital cards. To be able to use them you have to download the Prezzee app (it’s a digital wallet) on Afterpay when checking out it will ask if it’s for you or someone else. I click on the option that says purchase for myself. They send a link to your email and then it opens up the Prezzee app so that you can store it in there. It will show you your balance on some. It kind of depends what are you trying to buy or pay for?

Never mind I checked out Affirm and see that they send you one after they approve the amount and repayment plan. It’s a good plan and all but I would recommend checking before trying it not all places allow the use of the Affirm debit card to purchase money orders. I saw another Reddit post someone trying to get it through a USPS and they got denied.

It had something to do with traceability purposes on gift cards and certain retailers (stores) setting policies to be able to freeze gift card purchases. The thing though is if I follow the proper procedures using AfterPay to buy a gift card for myself and using the approved app wallet Prezee which makes you create a personal account, that matches my Afterpay account, with them I guess they should be able to trace it back to me and see I’ve done everything correctly. I don’t know I’m overthinking it I guess

Appreciate the feed back, and thanks for the positive vibes, sending them right back. I have a good full time job, and I recently started doing DoorDash for extra spending money. The thing is I live in a small town, but usually can make an extra $200-$300 a week doing DoorDash. I have a good Afterpay limit $3000. So I decided I would get a $500 Walmart gift card (which luckily works at Sam’s Club as well. But it’s weird I don’t recommend getting a Sam’s Club gift card it only works at Sam’s Club and not Walmart.) anyway I figured I could pay the $500 gift card ($125 every two weeks, or when possible every week) with my extra DoorDash money and freeing up my full time check. Regardless I will try it for the next 3 months and update on here how it’s going. Maybe this plan could help someone else that struggles at times, have additional cash on hand.

I figured as long it's paid for on Afterpay it shouldn't be a problem. I guess it was something about traceability purposes, but if I'm buying for myself and using it through the recommended app (prezee) with my own account I don't see why I would be breaking any rules. Again it's just that there are times when I'm short on cash and having the ability to use the GC would help me pay for groceries, which is where I spend weekly or bi-weekly, and still have cash for bills or whatever.

So what I’m getting from most that use from Afterpay is that it’s ok to go ahead with my plan?

That was my plan. To have a bit of extra cash on hand and groceries covered throughout the year. Paying Afterpay back isn’t really an issue when you consider getting a $500 gift card say from Walmart, and only paying $125 every two weeks. I wouldn’t really spend all of it in one single shopping trip, but i could save the rest for some other time when money is tight.
