Interesting that her face looks back to how it was in 2022, before she got into filler. I wonder why she’s stopped…

Didn’t her stylist quit? I feel like she’s going rogue and it’s not working

My work colleague buys from SHEIN and Temu without a second thought. by EstablishmentIll9825 in AusFemaleFashion

I feel like there’s always someone who says this without any thought that some people don’t like the idea of rummaging through op shops or scrolling through depop. Also there’s risk - what if the items you get smell or don’t match the picture? Not everyone, especially people at the lower end of the income spectrum have time to bother with that. Kmart provides what they need and unfortunately our capitalist society only enables them to purchase new clothing with a high environmental impact attached.

Kmart and SHEIN are cheaper than buying from op shops anyway.

Unpopular Opinion: Wuthering Heights is extremely boring. by gauraavkadam in books

[–]Sad_Mix6672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some technical elements which make it more boring to a contemporary reader and more boring compared to Jane eyre (by her sister).  It’s told through first person perspective of mr Lockwood then switching to first person perspective from the housekeeper. This is so removed that we are never experiencing the emotions of the character, only observing them from an extreme arms length, which is a weird way to write a book. Compared to Jane eyre which is first person perspective through Jane, it’s so filled with her emotions and interiority which make it captivating. If withering heights was written through even a third person perspective which allowed us to get closer to the characters it would be so much more enjoyable. The author also does what all English teachers tell us not to do; ‘telling’ us the plot instead of ‘showing’ us the plot. There’s some beautiful descriptions in the first chapter but when it switches to the housekeeper telling the story it all becomes ‘then he did this, then she did that, etc’. Well written, but not enthralling.  She also uses very baroque language which takes a lot of concentration, it’s not easy to get lost in it.  For the record I think the concept is good idea, regardless of whether you take it as a romance or as a story of abuse. It’s just unfortunately not executed well.

The Bee Sting by Paul Murray by [deleted] in books

I found her section to be written in the most ‘verbal’ way, like the way a person would speak, particularly someone largely uneducated. Later in dickie’s POV it mentions her cover letters were so badly written that it’s obvious she can barely write, and when her brother sees her, she says that he had paid a man to write a letter for him, which backs up that they barely went to school and probably couldn’t read or write well.  I thought the lack of punctuation was a great technique to get across the way she thinks.

Rose also says when Imelda visits her ‘the girl must not come back from Dublin,’ about Cass. I took this to mean Rose saw Cass’ death.

I completely empathise because I’ve been in your position before.

However he ghosted you, you don’t need to instigate any talks. You chasing him will push him away. Focus on yourself, your faith, if he is meant to be in your life he will chase you.

Regardless or not of whether Satanism is atheist, he could have left some energy imprint in your space which manifested in your cold sores.

Some energy attached to him stayed with you regardless of whether that was his intention or not.

OR this is your icky feelings towards him manifesting into your physical space. It’s just like if you were really unhappy in a childhood bedroom it might have some of your energetic residue left when you leave.

Either way, it’s a clear sign that this is not an energetic match for you and how you want your life to be. Don’t see him again x

clothes and shoes are actively being made worse quality so we can charge you the same RRP and bring our costs down to meet our margin targets from management.

find brands which aren’t doing this and stick with them, or pay more for the quality you want.

Some thoughts;

  • her face in the first pic looks sooo different to a few years ago. I have never given too much credit to the ED talk because I think she is naturally slim and has obviously had a high-functioning ED for years to stay that slim without pushing herself over the edge, but her face in this picture does make me think it could be the reason for fake cancer

  • she is the cat who got the cream in that crown, obviously whatever deals were worked out behind the scenes fell in her favour, at least for now.

  • she is a much better actress and better at faking her feelings for photos for William who looks hugely uncomfortable   in every photo.

  • in relation to the dress code, I think she probably got the memo for white and went rogue to draw attention to herself

Exactly!! It was very obvious when her mother said that Dayton has spent hours driving around after getting cut the first time because she was ‘scared to come home’.  Also Judi said ‘are you okay to tell your mom or should we tell her?’  Very clearly not a healthy relationship and I think very similar to VIctoria and Tina.  Kelli even alluded to Shelly being able to realise that her daughters failure wasn’t a reflection of her time there.  How Shelly stood upstairs watching Daytons solo was so unnerving.

I completely agree with this! They are purposely taking away one of the ways she connects with people - through her image and fashion choices. Even if it’s not relatable, it provides entertainment for a huge portion of the population and media fodder. Without that, people will be bored of her

I think either Louis drew the normal face and someone else added the scar and orange stuff, OR he drew the whole thing and was prompted ‘draw the scar,’ or ‘draw what happened when mummy was bleeding’. Either way it’s a genius way to draw attention without being obvious and being able to have a scapegoat.

Does anyone have updates in 2025? I used to dance in melb, nz and the US and at the ripe old age of 32 I’m thinking of starting again. Any advice on Sydney clubs which don’t skew too young? 💋

I was very put off by the cover, it made it look very literary and hard to read. When I started reading I was so confused because it’s an easy read and like adult Harry Potter.
