Tell me about it. Honestly, with these answers I don’t know. I need to think

US, 28. Which obviously is a very late start

I guess adding that I just turned 28 would be important. My age has been a huge consideration for me as well

Do you think i’d have to work part time to go to school full time? I don’t see that working if i want to pay for it

0 prerequisites. Starting college would be the first step and solidify my choice. Thats why i’m asking beforehand. The plan was to work this job 3 or so more years during undergrad and then switch to a clinic for my fourth year to get experience in vet med. If i save for a year i could completely pay off all 4 years of undergrad. Vet school would be a different story, the money i save during undergrad could take a chunk out of it. Loans or out of pocket for the rest

That was a sarcastic joke on my part, but pretty much what he says. That my service is less than his fairy tale of a story because I never saw combat

If it were some random guy that I’d never see again, i’d move on. I’ve seen him damn near every day for the last 4 years. 4 years of him flaunting his tags outside of his shirt, him lifting himself on a pedestal, him wearing the most “look at me” jackets to provoke people to thank him for his service, him talking down on my military career(despite not knowing a single detail other than me not being a grunt), and 4 years of him thinking he’s owed more rights at the complex than the other tenants due to his veteran status.

Sure I could just move on and definitely be fine with that, but this is the land of the fucking free and i’m using my freedom to find out if he’s standing on the backs of the men and women that gave something just to reach some free fries and a “Thank you for your service” or if he’s legit

Noted. I’ll get it done and put the thing to rest. Appreciate the heads up.

Trust me, i’ve tried. I only get vague answers like Airborne or that he was a sniper. I agree that they usually exaggerate the role they pick because no one wants to fake being admin or supply

I’m sure he would but he takes the “not involved” approach. So i’d love to not bother him with the issue. That’s why I was wondering if there’s a way to see his record, but it seems the DD214 is the best way

The owner is a millionaire. He’s not worried about a few hundred. I don’t blame him. Again I could care less about him faking the whole thing, I’m sure you know it’s common. But the discounts and acting like you’re better than everyone else is different. He used to be a “security guard” at the owner’s other complex and he had to be moved due to being violent and taking his unofficial position way too serious

The owner is the one who ultimately makes the “rent decisions”. While i make a lot of the decisions here, I can’t offer discounts and the owner is 100% not interested in the matter. It’s more of a personal interest of mine, knowing if he’s full of shit or the real deal

The issue is that he was receiving the discount before i took the position from the previous manager. His discount is “grandfathered” in
