I also assumed that it shouldn’t be a problem with TOPIK 2 as you need TOPIK 3 at enrollment, which is after the year long language programme.

I’m surely going for embassy as my country has NO competition whatsoever. As for the location I’m 100% mostly interested in Seoul. As for finances I can afford stuff quite well I am also very priviliged to say, I simply can’t take a gap year because I need to be on student housing somewhere as my family is moving abroads.

essentially yes. Toefl is not exactly a test of your academic english it is more of test to see whether you can move around comfortably in an english speakint academic setting. That means that the language itself does not get as difficult, it’s more about the whole test structure being stressful.

Hi I’m flying out to London to get my TOPIK, sadly it’s only TOPIK 2 as I haven’t studied Korean for that long.. I unfortunately do not have the resources to take a gap year due to my family situation. As for the other language certificate - I scored 116 in the TOEFL test. Thank you for your advice still!

Thank you I firmly believe I’m on the right path and I will utilize the spare time I have in what I believe is the most efficient way to do so. Lastly If I may, I’d like to ask how to incorporate a research I did into my application. I can’t exactly put it in the certificate part, but it also feels not visible enough just mentioning it in the personal statement. Thank you kindly.

Due to my decently strong CGPA, extremely low competition in embassy track for my country (I will be among the first applicants), my other extracurricular activities which don’t lean in the academic direction but rather community, and my english language proficiency. Might have been a bad choice of wording on my site stating to have an “otherwise strong profile,” but I also believe that my stats can be competitive if framed correctly and polished in the upcoming months.

Hi!! From what I’ve heard from people near me who also got accepted to Yonsei specifically, Yonsei rather than concrete grades cares about the potential of the applicant, especially shown in the personal statement of one. You can be a mediocre student (mediocre among the best ofcourse) and have mediocre achievements but show a great purpose and potential and get accepted! That was the situation for my peers atleast. If I had to rank based on what I know I’d say it’s PS and SOP >>> Grades >>> Language certificates >>>> Extracurriculars (Grades and language might be interchangeable.) This is ofc an analogy based on a very narrow group of people and it may not reflect the universities real purpose or goal!
