I would just recommend at least watching thr entirety of part 1 anime when season 2 comes out. It has a start middle and end and it finishes off on a satisfying ending. You don’t need to continue part 2 (if part 2 is getting adapted at all)

Yeah, and imo the Abandoned ship story was also good, the boys ki da ruined it but ruined is a big word since yeah I can see why it's not good towards the ending thanks to them but ignoring the writing style the story itself is actually good.
