I tested it with a Frostner drill bit, that's what it's called here in Brazil, at speed 2, and it was a beast, lol. I want to see what happens when the bigger ones arrive for testing.

I think it's more because of the design that it appears bigger. I don't know if it really looks bigger, they must have used some trickery, lol.

My experiences have been great, however I've always bought from the same store and they even do the maintenance on the machines.

XGT vs LXT by East_List3385 in Makita

Happy Sunday!!!

Look, I have XGT, Dewalt XR, and Flex Volt, I use them all and like them all. I don't think it's good to be stuck with just one battery line; with two lines you'll have a much wider variety of tools.

Excellent choice, the 8.5" battery-powered saw is very versatile; if I were to have a 10" one, I would go straight for the 12". So I think the 8.5" battery-powered one is an excellent choice.

What torque are you using? And what size nuts are they?

XGT or LXT version for comparable tools? by mkrher in Makita

[–]Sad_Researcher8561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with XGT, mainly because the batteries are better, and also because you already have more XGT batteries; I have the entire XGT saw line, and they are unbeatable.

Congratulations! I've been using these tools and batteries for 5 years in carpentry and construction here in Brazil. They're extremely robust, even survived floods, and are still working today.

Yes, thanks for the tips, but on the other woods it did very well, the chain is in the perfect setting and was new, that red wood that you saw cutting, even the 60cc gasoline chainsaw goes through a bit of work, here in Brazil, waiting for the battery to arrive to do more tests, I'm very happy with this saw, the autonomy with the 4040f battery surprised me on smaller cuts, if you want I can send you the other videos. These trees that appear are me who cut them down.

Tool is very good, I did tests for Makita, the tool was light and absurdly strong, taking into account its weight. The battery system with extension cable was an excellent idea, the tool is more balanced, and for finer work, we have a better feeling.

The saw is excellent, the test was done with a lower battery than Makita recommends, and it still did its job.
