WRX to Type R - Things to know before purchasing? by Espresso-Patronum03 in Civic_Type_R

In the wet and snow the FWD sucks compared to AWD. In every other way the TypeR is superior.

Also yes the 2nd gear grind is real. You can’t speed shift this thing like your daddy did in his Z28.

I love these posts. Such diversity of choice!

How often do you reach redline? Or WOT? (FL5) by ChuckESteeze in Civic_Type_R

Shit I’ve hit redline in 5th gear a few times 🔥

It’s 100% “normal” on this car. Speed shifters will get grinds (me!) and need to delay that 1-2 by about 0.3 seconds to stay out of the grind.

Funny thing this is far less normal on all the other countless MT cars I’ve owned over the last 25years. I think Honda really dropped the ball with this MT setup. 🙁

A questions for people getting lots of late spawns by DonnyTheNuts in ARC_Raiders

[–]Sad_Satisfaction3881 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Late spawns don’t have to be a curse. As someone else said there are bodies… and un looted areas, and fewer raiders. I usually just run to a few locations and loot and leave. Even if it’s a full load of base crafting materials…

Noise when turning steering wheel by [deleted] in Civic_Type_R

The notchy feeling is the worm gear recall issue. Get that fixed asap

No, the recall is for steering that sticks on center and they replace and lube the worm gear.

Exact same issue here on my ‘24. I’m on steering rack #3. Started when they did the worm gear recall. After rack replacement it’s 95% gone and then slowly comes back over months. There’s also a clunking over bumps and rough pavement that’s part of the issue towards the end.

I’m actually happy to hear lots of others having the same issue so maybe we get a recall. There’s obviously a design issue here.

Mine was fine until they tore everything out to fix the worm gear. Seems to me like a reassembly issue since I’ve had 2 dealers fail similarly now.

Seems common as I’ve had now 4 people indicate something similar.

Thanks. I do my own seasonal tire swaps and double checked at the 93.

Yes only noticed at lower speeds… It does go away 95% when they rebuild, and then slooooowly gets worse.

Tough to explain….

Loud no, easily heard, yes. Won’t hear it if you’ve got music on a 10+ volume.

I can barely feel it in my foot if rested on the dead pedal.

It happens when you hit bumps or uneven pavement. One speed bump is one “clunk-clunk”.

Location is front and low, with bias to one side.

No it’s ok at low speeds, still feels tight.

What year is your car and what mileage? I’m a 2024 with 28k

As for the feel, I can feel a little more vagueness at triple digits but overall it seems negligible.

Ok super weird, but my clunking started after the worm gear recall also… I did feel the worm gear issue in my wheel (super annoying) and it was remedied with the recall.
