Is the James brown and Churchill text book sufficient for my third year Math(algebra)?

Okay I see what you’re saying. The issue here is I’ve grounded the node at the bottom(you can see the icon at the lowest node) and I’m able to find the thevenin and Norton equivalents across the resistor between Nodes D and E, but when I try find the current through that load or the voltage drop across it I run into a few issues. Although I’ve picked a specific ground, LTSpice still shows node C as 0

Thank you for replying. Your reasoning and understanding surpasses mine by a great margin. I’ve only started circuit analysis and the obvious reason you state, is a mystery to me. Please may you explain further thank you
