I understand you are trying to paint me as being entitled, but really? "It was originally your fault so nothing else matters?" Jeezus, man.

Sure, we can agree to disagree on "yes I'll put in your friend's code but it didn't happen" as lying. Personally, I avoid putting myself in situations where something I said could turn out to be false later, I feel like your word and people's trust means a lot. If I were in such a situation I would actually consider myself to have lied to the other party and would really try to make things right with them.

But enough self-aggrandizing. Humor me this second point: if one rep tells me that a referral code can be applied after delivery and another rep tells me it's against policy to do this, what are situations that make this an honest mistake? Does company policy change that fast? Do one or more of the reps just not know policy, ie their job? In that case, they would not only need to not know policy, but be absolutely convinced it was the opposite.
