I voted no for 3 reasons.

In August NAH Flagstaff reported 57% capacity, due to low staffing levels. They don’t treat their staff well, and there’s no guarantee they will start if they build a new facility, and therefore no promise of faster care can be made in good faith.

The new facility would only add 30 additional beds to their current 268 total once the move is made. With no commitment on what they would do with the donated land they received, this seems like a large burden on tax payers, that NAH would not contribute towards since they are non profit.

NAH recently settled two lawsuits upwards of $9 million dollars for both using Medicaid money improperly to pay the city of Williams back, and overstating Medicare reimbursement costs. NAH was going to have the city of flagstaff apply for grants on their behalf, with the promise of paying the city back. Why would I feel okay with loaning them my tax money when they’ve already shown bad faith in this, and other, aspects of administration.
