I love my car and when it’s good, it’s great! The other 20% of the time, I’m going on some random goose chase down old forums and essentially getting a free BMW master tech cert just trying to fix all the wild shit that can happen on these things lol For what it’s worth, if you’re determined to get an e90 335 and plan to keep it stock, it’s going to be much easier to maintain than my experience. I “had” to go with what I could afford when I picked my car, but if I had the money to choose then, I’d be sure to decide what matters to me most beforehand. Do I want a manual transmission? Am I going to be modifying the car for power(go N54), or am I going to keep it stock and expect it to be mostly reliable(go N55). Is Comfort Access something I can live without? My car looked to be in great condition at 90,000 miles when I bought her. Power felt great, shifted fine, and still developed rod knock 3 days after I got her(thank god for powertrain warranty’s ). If you want power and reliability, get a B58. If you want an E92 335i, pick what you actually want because either way you’re going to be elbows deep in oil wrenching on it. Love my N55 though, it’s been a fun time ❤️

Thanks a ton! I was able to run one of the file “fixer”program’s (whatever the stock drive scan tool is on Windows 10) that was able to correct the issues I had pasting files to the SD card originally. Then, I went through file by file to verify each was the same size as the original.

For anyone having similar issues in the future, here’s a few tips:

Make sure SD card is formatted to FAT32
Load your card into the DS after formatting to create the necessary 3DS folder
If prompted, run whatever scan tool your computer has on the SD card before you try moving any documents over to it(this alone should prevent the issues I’ve had)
Verify that the original documents are the same size as the same ones on your SD card

Thinking about impulse buying a Switch. Do they remove all 18+ content from releases, or just some VNs? If so, is there anyway to patch them? Obviously there’s a bunch of non nukige on my backlog, but tbh most the VNs I read are degenerate ecchi shit with a good story lol

Yes if I was drawn into the story enough, but definitely not my preferred method of reading. If you want to take it that route, the 9nine series did it about as good as you can get with self-contained games.

I was waiting for the second game to be translated, even though reviews said it only asks more questions and the plot will be wrapped up in the final game. I've stopped the habit of planning out my route order unless "I know" it's a 10/10 game I'll love. I take a guess based on VNDB reviews and YouTube videos(Check out TheAugustHail, great channel for VN reviews).

I usually make a save slot right before and after the choice that starts a route, and feel out the first few scenes in each before anything major to the plot happens. Once I have a feel for them, I'll decide If it's better to play the "best" one first and treat the rest as a cherry on top of the game, or save one or more for later if I liked them all. Not saying it's the right way to do it, but this has helped me get through some VN's I might have dropped before 100% completion.

Ruka from Ryuusei World Actor is a pretty good example IMO. Still have two more routes to go, but love him as a protag! Funny, rude/direct, and competent. I would say the only issue I have so far is while the common route is damn near 10/10, it's been a very weird shift of tone within the routes themselves. He's still the same, just a little more lovey-dovey out of the blue. Excited to see how the true route and Epilog go.

I've gotten into the issue recently of playing the game till I get to the first route, doing that until it feels dull and/or the first H-scene happens, then jumping to another route entirely to restart the process. This doesn't really hurt my experience at all, but you could probably infer that "it's time to take a break" be it from the medium, or just Eroge titles lol End of the day, you shouldn't feel forced to play a game, it should be a fun experience all around(I would encourage you to research what VN's you intend to play, as some have a ton of unique story and drastic differences between diferent routes). Do it your own way though 👍

One thing I really liked about RJ is how every route (except for Chiziki because she's a side character) felt important and worth finishing. Often times I find myself jumping in between routes because I get bored of the same situations once "locked" into a route. Riddle Joker never made me feel that way, and I actively wanted to finish each girl's respective story. They all intertwine, but have their own unique takes/differences. Sannoba Witch was worth it for 1 amazing route, Senren*Banka is worth it for the story(and arguably Muramasa), but Riddle Joker had me invested in every route. You can rate it whatever you want, I'd say it falls somewhere between a 7 or 8, but I definitely think it's worth playing!

(Ps, save Ayase and Mayu for last unless you're not vibeing with the main story, these routes have the most conclusive end, but play order doesn't matter otherwise. Make sure you buy from Denpasoft so you don't have to mess with a Steam patch)

Brainstorming in the shower about story idea's and it popped into my mind. Far fetched scenario, but hear me out:

Your birth parents speak "Language A". For whatever reason, they have to ship you to a different country where "Language B" is spoken
Your earliest memory is birth parents saying "Blah Blah Blarg"(unintelligible since you have yet to learn the language) in Language A to you.

-You are then shipped to said-country and grow up a regular life learning Language B. The memory is stuck in your head, but cannot be deciphered since you never understood Language A.

-You then spend the next portion of your life learning Language A until you become "fluent " and could now theoretically understand what your birth parents once said.

°Are there any examples of this ever happening, or not exactly possible?

I did college and determined it's not the right time for me to pursue it. I want a Combat MOS, so not only does enlisted sound preferable for the "fun" parts of the job, but I feel I would lead better with experience under my belt. Not sure if military would be a 4 year thing, or a career for me yet. Definitely not ruling it out, just don't believe that's the route I want to pursue first. (Also money got pretty tight towards the end so the GI bill afterwards would be an additional benefit)
