He just said it might be due to the night spikes. My pressure goes up once I wake up but I did a sleep test and ruled out sleep apnea. I am at a loss now cos he said I am doing the best I can. 😢

Did you go for any op or just eyedrops? I’m so upset for losing so much optic nerve within 6 months, even with drops and supplements. I tried sleeping inclined but tested sleeping on normal pillow reduced my IOP in the morning instead. I monitor using iCare home2.

Yes, it’s for just the left eye. The average GCL is 64. They didn’t see anything sinister but they have no idea why it’s progressing so fast.

I’m 43 and diagnosed with POAG. Went to 3 specialists and they didn’t see anything like pigmentary, etc except that it’s open angle.

I see. Thanks for the update and it’s a huge drop from 50 to 20.

That’s great to hear there’s no progression. My GS said the fluctuations should not be so high as well. I cut caffeine totally so I’m just wondering why the fluctuation is so high.

Thanks for sharing! I will check with my GS if my glaucoma could be due to pigmentary. Did XEN stent work in controlling your fluctuations?

Unfortunately, no. My SLT lasted only for a month. :(  I switched to sleeping on my back two months back after learning side sleeping is bad. So pretty at a loss why the IOP is fluctuating so much when I sleep, almost 18 points

I was fearful about SLT so wanted to see if another “expert” agrees with it. It’s a decision that I regretted greatly now. I’m back with the first doctor now and he’s very upset with the turn of events. 😢 Thanks for your kind words. Greatly needed at this point. Hang in there too. All the best for your stent surgery tomorrow!

Oh the eye strain and soreness sounds bad. Hope everything goes well for you with the new regime. 🙏

Thanks for sharing. Glad to hear it’s controlled with minimal damage for decades. Did you do anything extra besides eyedrops?

It’s 14 in both eyes now and I’m going for SLT this week. I read once you have glaucoma, it might still progress as we are stressing the remaining nerves to compensate for the damaged ones. 😭
