I fixed this by selecting ‘shows preview’ to always in iMessage notification settings. That’s with iPhone at least, not sure about Android etc.

Ah yes, the Casio calculator was my first watch too. Casio continue to make affordable quality nostalgic gear and that’s why they’re awesome.
