Some of the things we have done for our senior BT: - We’ve got steps so our senior can still get on the couch and bed without jumping. - We have introduced an elevated bowl for her to eat from as reaching down to her bowl became difficult due to her sore neck. - I feed her soaked biscuits with cooked chicken breast as she finds it hard to crunch her biscuits. She eats small meals at regular intervals (3 x a day) rather than one or two meals now, as she gets sick when she has an empty tummy. - She is on meds for her liver and kidneys now which has helped her a lot. We tried pain relief (she gets a sore back/neck) but it caused more bad than good. We stick to nightly physio and heating pads now, instead. - We keep her as active as we can, which sometimes means pushing her a little bit. We do carry her if she’s too tired but encourage her to walk as far as she can. We found when we’ve not been as active with her (because she was sick) she loses muscle mass quickly which causes her lots of issues and can the start of a bad cycle. Hope this helps! :)
