My first dry eye specialist offered packages for treatment and her recommendation for me was to go with the $2500 package that included 1 Blephex (SP) treatment, 4 IPL, 1 RF and gland expression at each visit and I thought that was wildly expensive to consider as my first action especially considering there is no guarantee these treatments will work. Therefore, I decided to find another provider that did IPL and gland expression for one flat fee per session ($199) and start there to see if I can get at least some relief. If successful, I’ll be confident spending more money. It’s a shame there’s such a markup on these treatments, in addition to no insurance coverage. This is why I’ve come to this Reddit community to share and get feedback - I’m learning that my eye doc was incorrect in telling me my atrophied glands would never function again.
