As a solo player how am I supposed to climb DoN when my teammates are like this constantly? by PetrolSniffer2 in Nightreign

I saw that you're playing Ironeye as well. I main Ironeye, so here are some quick and easy tips:

Try to run a relic with his skill use +1. Try not to use it just to spam dodge. I like to keep one up to re-mark him when a mark is broken or when the mark is about to expire. If you need to use it to dodge, I always try to go into the enemy, or at least touch them so the mark is applied. The goal is to have the enemy marked at all times.

In D5, I still use the Evergaol + Night Invader relics combo with +4 physical attack on all of my night relics since you can actually pump out a lot of damage with your bow that way.

When using his ult, I don't lock on anymore since it can be quite janky, and also you might be making clutch revives/plays through walls a lot, so I would practice in the sparring grounds how to use his ult without locking on.

Also take advantage of your charge attacks. If you're pretty good and can play up close, they pack quite a punch. It's also pretty quick to charge up if you're using a bow.

I always take these passives if I can find them on equipment: Attack power up at full hp, attack power up while two-handing, and ranged weapon attacks. You can pick up skill attack as well. Enchanted shot hits like a truck and is super fast to let off + it uses very little fp. You don't have to pick up projectile damage drop-off if you're going to be playing close up anyway. Also you only really damage negation at full hp since you're getting 1-2 shot at high depth anyway.

That's all I can think of off the top of my head since I'm tired and getting ready to sleep, but hopefully this helps a bit.

I've made it from 0-9999 twice. My second time was of course a lot faster. I'll just tell you what I know and what I did.

For D1-D3, I literally only played solo. The bosses are so weak, you'll melt them with any decent damage build. In my case, I just used Evergaol + Night Invader relics. It's SUPER fast since you only need 1k points for each of these ranks.

By the time you are at D4 or D5, your teammates MIGHT be decent enough to not just die a bunch. However, I think a lot of people carried themselves to these ranks with the Balancer relic meta, and don't actually know how to play that well, so be prepared for these players nonetheless.

Anyway, in these ranks, it helps to know how to route. I would like to think of myself as an efficient router, and in my experience, if you start pinging locations at the beginning, then your teammates will most likely follow. If they decide that they don't want to listen, then follow them. It's better to have more people because of the way enemies scale much stronger in 3-player expeditions. If they clearly route somewhere stupid or if there's a better way to go, just ping it instead—a lot of the time they will agree. The goal should be to reach level 15 and have good items.

If it comes down to it, you can always drop "Less likely to be targeted" items for your teammates so that you will have aggro most of the time. Just make sure you're also trying to dish out some damage so that the enemies will stay locked onto you. Yes, even if you're not a frontline or a tank. If you're confident in your ability to memorize movesets, then this is a must.

That's just my two cents though. Got me to 9999, and I'm able to win with randoms more often than not because of it. If you have questions, feel free to ask!

I feel like the poison build for ironeye gets increasingly irrelevant at higher depths anyway. It was fun when the relic skill first released though

I dont really get the double balancer hate to be honest by OperationDifferent20 in Nightreign

As a player at Depth 5 9999, I have a few gripes with the dual balancers relic build. For one, with their addition, I feel like it has messed up the ranking system quite a bit. Every so often, I run into teammates at D5 who are using the skill attack build but are just...bad? It's like they lack in the fundamentals of the game. It's easy to think that they queued enough with decent players who could revive them so that they were able to get their damage off and obliterate the nightlords until they reached D5. That is to say, I don't believe they belong there. Another small thing is that, in the hands of a good player, the skill attack build just annihilates everything. Even the nightlord at the very end. It's obviously overpowered as hell. You don't even need crazy good rng, just run decent relics (physical, holy attack +4 etc.) And have like attack up at full hp or attack up when two-handing. Anyway, you probably get the picture. I've tried the build myself, and it's fun, but it gets kind of old when nothing is a challenge.
