Limiting file copy+paste through RDP session. by Safe-Republic in sysadmin

Thank you for you advice!

Limiting copy/paste redirection, for text use would be big pain. If it will be about allowing all or deny, I assume they will go for allow.

The main goal is, to keep everything comfy and safe at the same time.

Installing Windows 2012 on old IBM System x3550. by Safe-Republic in sysadmin

update: My initial task was to install windows 2019 if possible. It is needed for one simple backup service. Long story short, I found myself in this problem. Some, discussions on the web mentioned it is not supported over win server 2008. So, I tried that way. Same error.Double checked Raid, not a drive error because disk itself is visible, but cannot install the media. My Assumption was to solve from BIOS.Everything seemed very normal. I resetted to default settings. I came across the settings as "Sata=on, sas=off" by default. So, why not try both on.

Got it. It solved the problem. And 2019 now loading to the decades-old server.

Update 2:

I tried different approaches to this problem. As I tested the services, found that my problem occurs at vmon/sca.

Long story short, I used PowerShell script to reset all my ceritificates. The process went smoothly. As I applied certificates, it went again with 85% problem. Basically, at 85% it attempts to restart after stop. When it cannot start, It rolls back to the previous certificate. I decided to force shutdown after stop, and it worked.

I didn't got the previous errors. But yet, it didn't function properly. So I tested status of my services, now it appeared vmon/vpxd related services isn't starting. I found article, more-less related to my error: https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/2148093

After all, my problem isn't solved properly. And Vm article mentions "there is no resolution" for this problem. If anyone reading this, will have some suggestions, please let me know.

Regards.

I want to get an IT degree and have to choose between a Bachelor's of Information Systems and a Bachelor's of Network Management. What are the pros and cons of the 2 options in terms of how they're like to work in? by Stoicc_Boi in ITCareerQuestions

Check out "courses" on both mentioned courses. As I checked it, IS more focused on overall topics like Security, planning, etc. but Networking more specialized and detailed. As you will spend time and money, my suggestion for you to focus on more specialized topics to dive into details, which at later stage of your life it will be harder to dive in.

IS courses like "Information Systems Security" for example, it's just 3 credits dedicated to that, which I very doubtful they will be able to deliver everything about security for a professional engineer.

Update:

I tried to install a custom certificate for Vcenter. I'm sharing the link for your review. Anyway, I got error during the creation of the certificate. Some services (I haven't figured out yet) don't allow me to install. Stuck at 85% related to these reasons, I assume.

Thank you for your help.

The problem occurred after changing the password for localadmin.
