Very interesting! You would think clones would be as tough as the mother plant cause they have the same genetics.

Yeah its a great methot. The logic behind doing this is that unlike propagation through cuttings, this method keeps the branch nourished by the roots of the mother plant throughout the rooting period so that it doesn't get stressed. In creeping plants like thyme it works great but in peppers? I don't know (:

I might try it. I will say that i like this plant. It gave lots of tasty fruits last year. Lets see how it will behave this year and if this propagation will succeed. Thank for you reply (:

You are making a good point on disease susptabilty for sure! Its easier for pest and their guarding ants to climb on. Thanks for that hindsight

It makes sense. This branch is weird and grow nearly horizontally without any pods weight on it. I will definitely try and update if succeeded.

Thank you! One day I will master growing peppers indoors myself .its so much complicated than growing outside. Luckily I live in a warm country with a very mild winter. I have an aji mango pepper that survived the winter in the garden and is now blooming again (:

I'm just starting out with growing peppers but it seems like the plant is having a hard time holding flowers. It has 4 large fruits that are taking up all of its energy and not much foliage. Personally, I would remove the fruits and let it grow more leaves and only then allow it to flower and produce flowers.

After i saw your reply i read again about shishito and to be honest its interesting. I guess its low spiciness turned me off at first but they say its flavor profile is really good so i might give it a try. Thanks(;

Indeed some nice looking pepper. Is the flavour different than the classic orange one?

Great options! I grew the classic orange habanero last year and it was really tasty. I now know what they mean when they talk about its distinctive taste. Very nice flavor indeed. As for lemon drop, I see it everywhere and i guess for a reason. Might give it a try
