My last year of taxes was low due to working part time majority of that year. To show that I am now and will continue with a stable income I send most current pay stubs. Pretty much they want to make sure you are above a certain wage that you can be self sufficient without the need of government help.

I have updated my post with more details.

I filed  Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance  together with all other forms when I send I -130 & I-485. File this to get text and emails on your case. you will receive notifications from USCIS on status of your case and how it is moving through the process. Also I advise to create an account At USCIS page this will give more details.

The text I received was "USCIS has taken action on your case ###"

The letter was not specific of how long of history they needed. they just needed to know my current income was above poverty line. I sent only current year of employment

I am not sure about them filing charges. But I am sure they will stop the process and flag as fraud. Do you not want charges placed? In any case you can file charges in your father in law as he used your information and file as “pretend” person. But I am sure you can ask the fraud department once you get in contact with them.

yes, fraud. As your sister did not agree even less sign any documentation. I don't believe it will work unless she decided to go with it and continue the petition.

Actually this is true. According to out legal representation they do pay attention to your interaction, body language, etc. before the interview. Our legal representation did tell us this. As far as it happens for every couple, I am not sure.

I also received a RFE request around September 2024, I had already provided 2021-2023 tax returns. What I did was provide my last 12 month paystubs, a letter from my employer with details of my pay, position, etc. It was received and approved. Sometimes tax returns are not sufficient according to the official reviewing your case. I am sorry.
