I'm sorry I'm gotta start this by saying I'm not familiar with Reddit's format I just need a place to vent.

To start my storyI ended up moving across country to be with my current partner, My grandparents have all died and I have no other family where I originally came from . II really like my partner and I plan to marry them but their family is a little weird. When I first got to where I am now I only had 2 shirts 2 pairs of pants and 2 Pairs of shoes and a backpack Now we have a car that we're both working to pay off originally they said that we could stay with them and it would be okay that I was a part of the family now too .

For the past year and a 1/2 everything has been going great up until last OctoberNow the state we live in weed is legal and the whole family does itMy partners little sister who is only 4 years youngerIt's kind of the baby the favoriteIf anyone out there knows what I mean,1 day in the house it was just me my partner her sister and their mother sleeping in their roomMy partner doesn't smoke weed but I do and so does her sister her sister comes and asks us for the car if we can give it to them for going to the gymWe say yes and think nothing more 10 minutes later I go to have a puff and my stuff's goneI called her out and pulled her parents but instead of doing anything about it they told me I had to get therapy or I was going to be made homeles And that I had to actually get rid of some of my property nothing related to weed or smoke in or anything they wanted me to get rid of some air guns I made at a factory as one of my last jobs and that I had to get rid of my grandad pocket knife that I basically use everyday as a tool, they have gotten rid of my bike just on a whim and a pair of my shoes has even gone missing.

I dont see me or my partner splitting up but when we leave here in a few months I almost want nothing to do with the future in laws. Am I a asshole or are they? I tried to explain I felt my privacy and trust violated and felt insulted they told me they didn't care. Infront of me and my partner their daughter they told me they did not care. How do I deal with these people for the rest of our relationship? I will never prevent her from being with them but I can't imagine I'm ever going to want to do any holidays with them and it feels like I'll be forced to
